Canon will announce a trio of cameras in the near future. The list includes EOS 80D, PowerShot G7 X Mark II, and PowerShot SX720 HS, and they are all supposed to show up around CP+ 2016.

One of the biggest digital imaging events in the world is scheduled to begin on February 25. Many new cameras and lenses are expected to be presented in anticipation of this show and it seems like Canon will come forth with three new shooters.

Before the official product launch event, a highly-reliable source has managed to get a hold of the specs of the Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark II and SX720 HS compact cameras. The former will carry the premium legacy of its predecessor, while the latter is here to appease travel photographers on a budget.

Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark II specs leaked ahead of CP+ 2016 unveiling

At the Photokina 2014 event, Canon has introduced the PowerShot G7 X in order to compete against the Sony RX100 III. Although both of them featured the same image sensor, they were direct competitors until the PlayStation maker revealed the RX100 IV. Now, it is Canon’s turn to make a move and the good thing is that it is happening soon.

The Mark II version of the Canon PowerShot G7 X compact camera is rumored to become official soon, while its specifications have been leaked.

The specs of upcoming Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark II include a 1-inch-type 20-megapixel CMOS image sensor with a DIGIC 7 image processor and a 24-100mm f/1.8-2.8 lens. The focal length of the lens is expressed in the full-frame equivalent, while the lens will also bear image stabilization technology.

This compact camera will be capable of shooting up to 8 fps in continuous mode, including RAW files. Additionally, it offers in-camera RAW development. WiFi and NFC will be built-in, while a time-lapse movie recording option will sit at users’ disposal.

Its display will consist of a 3-inch 1.04-million-dot LCD touchscreen that can be tilted upwards by 180 degrees and downwards by 45 degrees. There will be no 4K video recording, as the camera will only support full HD capture.

Canon PowerShot SX720 HS has also had its specifications revealed online

Some specs of the Canon PowerShot SX720 HS have also showed up online. The compact shooter will employ a 20.3-megapixel CMOS sensor, most likely a 1/2.3-inch-type unit, with a DIGIC 6 image processor.

Its 40x optical zoom lens will feature an integrated image stabilization system, which will come in handy in low-light conditions and at telephoto focal lengths. The list continues with WiFi, NFC, full HD video recording, and a 3-inch LCD screen.

The specs of the EOS 80D have not been mentioned. However, it is worth reminding that the DSLR has recently been rumored to make a CP+ 2016 appearance along with the EOS Rebel SL2.

This time, there are no details about the world’s smallest DSLR. Whatever happens, we will report it, so make sure you stay right here for the latest CP+ 2016 news!
