Canon’s compact camera is now upgradeable to a new firmware, which has reached version 1.0.2.0. This means that it should not make a huge difference for the users, as it is only a minor update.

Still any update is better than no updates at all, especially when it is fixing some bugs that might have been annoying photographers ever since a product’s launch.

Canon SX280 HS firmware update 1.0.2.0 available for download now with two changes

Anyway, the Canon PowerShot SX280 HS firmware update 1.0.2.0 changelog includes two changes over the previous version.

The first change refers to an increase in movie recording duration by up to 20%, when using optical zoom. The reason behind this decision is based on the fact that the power consumption is reduced when optical zoom is in place.

The second change is a bug fix. Previously, the camera was displaying a battery level notice when capturing movies even though there was enough power in the battery.
