Fujifilm is rumored to introduce an entry-level version of the X-T1 mirrorless interchangeable lens camera instead of releasing a successor for either one of the X-A1 or X-M1 cameras.

One of the most intriguing rumors of recent times involves the future of Fujifilm’s X-mount entry-level segment. The company has been rumored to be working on a new low-end mirrorless camera for a long time and it seems like the device is finally coming at CP+ Camera & Photo Imaging Show 2015.

Recently, it has been said that either the X-A1 or the X-M1 is getting replaced by a newer model. However, a source who has been right in the past is claiming that the Japan-based manufacturer is planning to announce an entry-level version of the weathersealed X-T1 camera.

Fujifilm is rumored to announce a cheaper version of the X-T1 mirrorless camera at CP+ 2015.

Entry-level Fujifilm X-T1 version rumored to be released instead of the X-A2 or X-M2

The beginning of this saga is dated before the Photokina 2014 event, but in recent times it has picked up the pace. A lot of details concerning this subject have been leaked by various sources.

One of the sources pointed out that Fuji is aiming to kill its entry-level business in order to focus on another mysterious project. However, another source has pointed out the fact that we will see the X-A2 or the X-M2 being unveiled soon.

A totally different source has joined this story and it appears to confirm the initial gossip talks. The Japanese company will not release the X-A2, nor the X-M2, because it will actually reveal an entry-level Fujifilm X-T1 version at CP+ 2015.

The device does not have a name, yet, but it will be released in the near future, shortly after its introduction. The upcoming mirrorless interchangeable lens camera will be significantly cheaper than its bigger sibling, therefore we should expect it to come without any weathersealing points and without many other features.

Fujifilm XQ2 compact camera to be announced alongside the cheaper X-T1

FujiRumors is reporting that the information comes from a source “who was right in the past”, which usually means that it has higher chances of turning into a reality.

What we know for sure is that Fuji will launch a mirrorless camera and a compact one. The latter was supposed to be the long-rumored X70, but recently-leaked details have shown that the XQ2 will be the chosen one after all.

As usual, you should not draw any conclusions before any proof is shown, so stick around in case something new shows up on the web!

Meanwhile, Amazon is selling the Fujifilm X-T1 for about $1,200.
