The first Nikon 1 J4 photo has showed up on the web ahead of the mirrorless camera’s official announcement.

Nikon 1 J4 will take the place of the 1 J3 in the middle of the 1-series pack and will be sitting below the Nikon 1 V3. So far, we have learned that the device will feature a touchscreen on the back and a flash sync speed of 1/60th of a second.

Thankfully, the rumor mill is back with more information. The mirrorless camera will feature a 16-megapixel 1-inch-size image sensor and a 3-inch 104K-dot LCD touchscreen.

The device will offer an ISO sensitivity range between 160 and 6400. However, it will be expandable up to 12800 through built-in settings.

Nikon’s new CX-mount shooter will be capable of recording 1920 x 1080 videos at 60fps with stereo audio support.

The 1 J4 will measure 99.5 x 60 x 28.2mm and will be powered by an EN-EL22 battery, which has never been seen in a Nikon camera.

The new Nikkor AF-S DX 18-300mm f/3.5-6.3G ED VR lens will be 260 grams lighter than the current model.

Nikon is also developing a replacement for the heavy 18-300mm lens for DX-format cameras. Sources have leaked the first photo of the Nikkor AF-S DX 18-300mm f/3.5-6.3G ED VR, too, a lens featuring a filter size of 67mm and a 35mm equivalent of 27-450mm.

This lens designed for Nikon DSLRs with APS-C image sensors is here because photographers have been complaining about the huge weight of the current model. The new version will weigh 550 grams, which is 260 grams lighter than the version currently available on the market.

The optic does not have a rumored price, yet, but it is said to be “relatively inexpensive”. It is worth noting that 18-300mm f/3.5-5.6G AF-S DX lens costs less than $1,000 at Amazon, Adorama, and B&H PhotoVideo.

Its replacement will sport a darker aperture at the telephoto end and it does not have a depth-of-field scale, so we can expect it to be cheaper. A launch date has not been provided, but stay tuned because it is definitely coming soon!
