Samyang has officially announced that it will release five new lenses for the Sony A7 and A7R full frame E-mount cameras.

Samyang is one of the most popular third party accessory manufacturers in the digital imaging world.

The company makes lenses for Canon, Nikon, Sony, and other camera makers and it seems like it will not miss the most recent opportunity: Sony A7 and A7R E-mount full frame cameras.

Sony has already partnered with Zeiss for the aforementioned shooters, but Samyang will not remain very far behind and it will take matter into its own hands, as usual.

The South Korean company has announced that it will release a series of lenses for the new E-mount shooters. Additionally, it has provided the names and focal lengths of the optics that will all be released soon.

The five new Samyang lenses will be released by the end of 2013

Samyang has added that the lenses will provide excellent image quality thanks to their aspherical elements and coating that reduce optical flaws and chromatic aberrations.

The optics are based on existing designs therefore they will be readied by the end of the year.

The manufacturer claims that it will complete the products and release them on the market within two months, so that photographers can take advantage of the benefits provided by Sony’s new mirrorless full frame cameras as soon as possible.

Although they will be optimized for 35mm sensors, the five new Samyang lenses will work with APS-C sensors, too. This means that NEX cameras, including the NEX-5T and NEX-7, will support the optics.

The South Korean company is already making some optics for E-mount cameras, but they are aimed at camcorders. The list comprises the 14mm T3.1 ED AS IF UMC, 24mm T1.5 ED AS IF UMC, 35mm T1.5 AS IF UMC, and 85mm T1.5 AS IF UMC.
