The Fujifilm X-A1 release date will happen sometime within the next few days, along with the launch of a new X-mount lens: the XC 50-230mm f/4.5-6.7 OIS.

Fujifilm is moving upwards in photographers’ preferences. The company has struck gold with the launch of the X-Trans sensor and the X-Pro1 has received positive reviews all around.

A leaked Fujifilm X-A1 shows the mirrorless camera’s black version. The rumor mill says that the launch event will happen in the following days.

Fujifilm X-A1 release date scheduled to occur sometime in the following days

The X-mount series has quickly received more members as the X-E1 has decided to join the party as well. Earlier this year, it has been rumored that Fuji will launch two new mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras, one with  and another one without an X-Trans sensor.

The X-M1 is already official and the so-called X-A1 has been leaked several times. Almost everything is known about the rumored camera, as its press release and photos have also accidentally appeared on the web.

Now, sources are back with more information, stating that the Fujifilm X-A1 release date will occur in the following days.

Fourth X-mount camera, first without an X-Trans image sensor

Fuji X-A1 will become the fourth X-mount camera. It will be the first to come without the critically-acclaimed X-Trans sensor. However, the Bayer version is said to capture very good photos.

The mirrorless shooter will sport a 16-megapixel sensor and it will not feature a built-in viewfinder, therefore users will have to rely on the Live View mode.

Fujfiilm will release the camera in at least three colors, including blue, red, and black. A silver version has not been spotted in the leaked shots, but we should not write it off, yet.

XC 50-230mm f/4.5-6.7 zoom lens will make an appearance on the same day

The camera will be introduced alongside the XC 50-230mm f/4.5-6.7 lens. The lens will feature optical image stabilization and it is somewhat official, as the company has mentioned it in its updated roadmap.

Fujifilm is working on another lens: XF 56mm f/1.5 R. This prime optic will provide a 35mm equivalent of 84mm, while the aforementioned zoom will offer 75-350mm, says the company.

If the X-A1 is “too low-end” for you, then you should take a closer look at the X-M1, which is available at Amazon and B&H Photo Video for $699.
