The Fujifilm X-Pro2 launch date is rumored to have been scheduled for the first half of 2015, as the company is targeting to release its flagship camera early next year.

Rumors concerning the replacement for the flagship X-mount camera began circling around the web more than a year ago. As time passed by, multiple sources have claimed that the mirrorless camera would become official at Photokina 2014. However, the event is over now and the company’s reps have said that the camera will not be unveiled “anytime soon”.

Regardless of this aspect, an insider attending one of the Fuji’s events is claiming that a representative has revealed the Fujifilm X-Pro2 launch date. He says that the X-mount shooter will be introduced sometime in early 2015 or during the first half of 2015.

The Fujifilm X-Pro1 is the flagship X-mount camera. It is rumored to be replaced in early 2015 by the Fuji X-Pro2.

Fujifilm X-Pro2 launch date has allegedly been scheduled to take place in early 2015

It is worth reminding that some sources have pointed out that the manufacturer will launch the X-Pro1 replacement in 1H 2015. This means that the latest whispers are confirming what we have heard in the past, so Fuji fans might be in for a treat sometime next year.

The source says that the announcement could come as soon as early 2015, so we will be keeping a close eye on the CES 2015 and the CP+ Camera & Photo Imaging Show 2015 events.

These are the two high-profile events scheduled to take place at the beginning of the year, where Fuji and its X-Pro2 could get a lot of exposure.

The X-Pro2 will not come alone. The recently-rumored dedicated flash gun with high-speed sync support is also said to be on its way. The flash could be introduced alongside the mirrorless camera, providing more options for the professional studio photographers.

Fuji X-Pro2 specs list poised to include new 24-megapixel APS-C sensor

Meanwhile, the rumored specs list of the Fujifilm X-Pro2 will include a 24-megapixel APS-C image sensor that is not organic. The X-mount shooter should also come packed with a tilting display on the back and with built-in WiFi, allowing photographers to control the camera using a smartphone or tablet.

As the new X100T comes with a hybrid viewfinder, it is very likely that the X-Pro1 replacement will pack a similar feature. Still, it would be unwise to draw any conclusions at this point, so stay tuned for more details!

Amazon is currently selling the X-Pro1 for a price slightly under $900.
