Fujifilm X-T10 is the name of the cheaper X-T1 version

Fujifilm is rumored to announce a cheaper version of the X-T1 weathersealed mirrorless camera sometime in the near future. The new model is said to be called X-T10 and it is believed to compete against the Olympus OM-D E-M10.

The rumor mill has provided a lot of information about the Fujifilm’s lower-end camera plans. It has been said that the Japan-based company will re-think its entry-level strategy in 2015 and that some existing models might not be replaced.

Shortly after that, the X-A2 has become official, while the X-M2 is allegedly on its way, too. All these have happened while some sources said that the manufacturer is developing a cheaper version of the X-T1, the company’s first weathersealed X-mount camera.

As things have cooled down for a while, they are about to heat up once again, as the Fujifilm X-T1 mirrorless camera is now said to be the cheaper X-T1 model and to be on its way to the market.

Cheaper version of the weathersealed X-T1 mirrorless camera will be called Fujifilm X-T10

At first, the name of the mirrorless camera remained hidden. However, separate sources have been able to confirm that the shooter will be called Fujifilm X-T10.

This is a new naming scheme from Fuji, but it could signal its target audience. It is rumored that it will compete against the Olympus E-M10, which is the entry-level OM-D-series Micro Four Thirds camera.

Although the name could confuse consumers, the X-mount maker will not be deterred by this fact. The announcement date of the device remains unknown, but it is said to become official soon and to be released sometime in 2015.

Fujifilm will strip down the X-T1 in order to make the X-T10 more affordable

The Fujifilm X-T10 will be the cheaper version of the X-T1, meaning that it will come packed with a trimmed down specifications list. Unfortunately, the sources have not been able to share some of its features.

The X-T1 comes packed with a 16-megapixel X-Trans CMOS II APS-C sensor, EXR Processor II, continuous shooting mode of up to 8fps, maximum ISO of 51,200, built-in electronic viewfinder, and a very fast autofocus system among others.

For the time being, it is unclear which features will be taken out of the X-T1 in order to make the X-T10, but since it is called the “cheaper X-T1”, then we can expect it to be weathersealed, just like its sibling.
