IBE Optics 26mm f/1.4 lens for Micro Four Thirds is characterized by low distortion and a special coating for near-infrared applications.

Scarce details about the 26mm f/1.4 lens

Just like the Ibelux 40mm f/0.85 lens, the 26mm f/1.4 glass was not launched to attract the eyes of the visitors. Some have gone as far as saying that it was like the company does not even want consumers to be aware of its latest products, however, it is very likely that the company will release more details towards the release of both lenses.

According to a report from the CP+ 2013, IBE Optics will release the Ibelux 40mm f/0.85 lens in the summer of 2013. As for the new 26mm f/1.4 lens, a time frame for a release remains unknown, just like most of the glass’ specs.

Being a German company, IBE Optics published a minor data sheet written in its native language. According to Google Translate, the lens features a 22mm circle and less than 5% distortion. The company claims that the low distortion will allow improved performance towards the edges of the photos.

Not just Micro Four Thirds, it is about near-infrared applications as well

One interesting fact about the lens is that it comes packed in a special coating that makes it compatible with near-infrared fields. The data sheet also tells us that the 26mm f/1.4 lens boasts a 0.12x magnification.

For the moment, there are no other details about the lens and the company has not made any indications that it will release other statements. As stated above, IBE Optics is expected to release a full data sheet of the Micro Four Thirds lens in the following months, as we are getting closer to its release.
