Leica reveals its first 28mm lens with a maximum aperture of f/1.4

M-mount users have numerous lenses at their disposal, but this one is something that they have never experienced. It is a 28mm optic with a maximum aperture of f/1.4, the first time Leica has made a lens with this focal length and aperture combination.

Image quality has been put at the forefront, as the lens is made out of 10 elements in seven groups with a floating element and an aspherical element. This mixture will help deal with focusing issues and with aberrations, so that the results will look amazing.

Moreover, the internal configuration has been designed to keep the size and weight of the optic within comfortable parameters. The lens can be used for taking street photos or for capturing images at indoor events, so the dimensions of the Summilux-M 28mm f/1.4 ASPH lens have been kept in control by Leica.

According to the Germany-based company, this optic can be used for architecture photos as well as landscape shooting. Leica adds that the lens is perfect for photojournalism, too, and it invites users not to hesitate in buying it.
