Sony has released a firmware update for its series of Action Cams, as well as an entire lineup of accessories, which will boost the shooters’ usefulness.

Recently, it has been discovered that Sony will release action camera mount for dogs. That day has arrived, but the dog mount is not alone, as it has been accompanied by a slew of other accessories and a firmware update.

Sony Action Cam HDR-AS10 and HDR-AS15 firmware update now available

The Sony Action Cam HDR-AS10 and HDR-AS15 are now upgradeable to a new software version, which can be downloaded for free. The new version is here to bring plenty of features, including the ability to record full HD movies at 60 frames per second.

Sony’s Action Cam HDR-AS10 and HDR-AS15 cameras are also getting a Water Scene Selection mode that is optimized for capturing underwater videos. White balance can now be set to water mode, which should record sharper videos in the pool or while scanning the ocean’s bottom.

Additionally, the firmware update brings a so-called Beep Off setting, which regulates sound levels for use in quiet areas, meaning that the cameras will not make any sound while having their settings adjusted.

As of June, Sony Action Cam users will be able to share their content with smartphones and tablets, through the PlayMemories Mobile app for Android and iOS devices. However, the firmware update is available for download now at the company’s official website.

New Sony Action Cam HDR-AS10 and HDR-AS15 accessories announced

Sony Action Cam HDR-AS10 and HDR-AS15 have also been graced by a complete list of accessories. The first is called Skeleton Frame and it is aimed at sports people, who can attach it to handlebars or to their goggles.

The AKA-SF1  features access to the HDMI, USB, and microphone ports, and it will become available on the market this June for a price of $29.99.

Up next comes the Dog Harness. It can record videos from the point of a view of medium to large dog breeds. The Sony AKA-DM1 will be released in June for $44.99.

The Surfboard Mount is aimed at water-sports people. It can be attacked to a surfboard, a kayak, or even a snowboard. The AKA-SM1 features a special adhesive system, which makes sure that it will not fall off your board. The accessory will become available also in June for $34.99.

Three is a lucky number, but not for Sony, as the accessories list is bigger

A Wrist Mount will also be released at the beginning of summer. It can be used in combination with the Skeleton Frame or a Waterproof Housing so that you can take it underwater. The AKA-WM1 will cost $29.99.

The Float Mount is the opposite of the Waterproof Housing. It is not aimed at taking the camera underwater, as it is actually intended to keep the Sony Action Cam afloat. The cameras will not sink into the water and will be released this June for $14.99.

The list continues with the Ball Head. It can adjust the Action Cam’s angle when it is set to various mounts, providing multiple vantage points. The Sony ADP-BH1 will be released in June for $34.99.

Last but not least comes the Carrying Case, which is perfect for housing the Action Cam when not in use. There is plenty of room for a few mounts or accessories of your choice. The LCM-AKA1 should be released in June for a price of $34.99.
