Nikon has taken the wraps off of three superzoom cameras, called, which will be released on the market by the end of spring 2016.

Premium compact cameras might be out of reach to a lot of consumers, but this does not mean that there are no good solutions out there for them. Nikon may have just unveiled three high-end shooters, but the Japanese manufacturer has also introduced three superzoom cameras that are designed for travel photographers.

The company’s latest products are the Coolpix-branded A900, B700, and B500 fixed-lens cameras. All of them are boasting extended zoom lenses and plenty of features that will appeal to photographers looking for a compact, lightweight camera that meets all their demands.

Affordable Nikon Coolpix A900 compact camera records 4K videos

Nikon’s first solution for people who travel a lot is the Coolpix A900. The device features a 20-megapixel 1/2.3-inch-type sensor with a maximum ISO sensitivity of 3200. It includes optical image stabilization technology and a 35mm focal length of 24-840mm with a maximum aperture of f/3.4-6.9.

Nikon Coolpix A900 features a 20MP sensor and a 35x optical zoom lens.

The Nikon Coolpix A900 camera and its 35x optical zoom lens are joined by the ability to record videos at 4K resolution with a frame rate of 30fps. The device may not have a built-in viewfinder, but it comes with a 3-inch tilting LCD screen that serves as a Live View mode.

This camera is capable of shooting up to 7fps in burst mode, while providing a shutter speed range between 8 seconds and 1/4000th of a second. It comes with a built-in flash and support for WiFi, NFC, and Bluetooth, the latter which maintains an always-on connection with a mobile device.

Black and silver have been chosen as the colors for the Nikon Coolpix A900, while the camera has been scheduled for a spring 2016 release date. The shooter will be priced at $399.95.

Nikon announces Coolpix B700 bridge camera with impressive 60x optical zoom lens

The second shooter is the Coolpix B700 bridge camera. It has a SLR-like design with a large grip, but its most important feature remains the 60x optical zoom lens, which offers a 35mm equivalent of 24-1400mm.

Nikon Coolpix B700 is a camera with a 60x optical zoom lens that records 4K videos.

The maximum aperture offered by the camera is f/3.3-6.5, depending on the selected focal length. The sensor in the B700 is the same as the one in the A900, so users will be able to shoot 20-megapixel photos.

Additionally, 4K video recording is supported at up to 30fps. However, the B700 gains RAW support compared to the A900, albeit its continuous shooting mode only reaches 5fps. This bridge camera also features a built-in electronic viewfinder and an articulated touchscreen.

Nikon will release it in the spring for a price of $499.95 in a black-only color, says the company.

40x optical zoom lens in a compact, lightweight body: Nikon Coolpix B500

Perhaps the lowest-end model of the bunch, Coolpix B500, features a 16-megapixel 1/2.3-inch-format sensor with a 40x optical zoom lens. Its full-frame focal length equivalent stands at 22.5-900mm, so it is a good solution to take with you on your travels.

Nikon Coolpix B500 will be released this spring with a 40x optical zoom lens.

Nikon has also added a tilting LCD screen into this shooter. However, users will not be able to compose 4K videos on it, as the camera can only record videos at up to full HD resolution.

The maximum aperture of the aforementioned lens stands at f/3-6.5, while the power is supplied by four AA batteries instead of a single Li-ion battery. As expected, WiFi, NFC, and Bluetooth are available in the B500, just like in the A900 and B700.

Nikon is poised to launch this camera by the end of the spring for a price of $299.95 in red and black colors.
