WiFi and NFC-ready Nikon Coolpix S3700 becomes official with 8x optical zoom lens

Nikon Coolpix S3700 comes packed with a 20.1-megapixel 1/2.3-inch-type CCD sensor and an 8x optical zoom lens that offers a 35mm focal length equivalent of 25-200mm.

Its lens provides a maximum aperture range of f/3.7-6.6, depending on the selected focal length. However, its major advantage is that it offers lens-shift Vibration Reduction technology, in order to allow users to capture blur-free photos.

Living in the era of connectivity means that even compact cameras must support a wireless connection of some sort. In this case, the Coolpix S3700 features built-in WiFi and NFC, allowing users to send files to a mobile device for quick sharing on the web.

The Nikon Coolpix S3700 compact camera also features an enhanced Smart Portrait mode. This way, skin tones are adjusted, the image is more vivid, and the camera captures two photos in order to make sure that subjects have not blinked.

In the video department, it is worth noting that the S3700 can record 720p HD movies, just like its sibling.

Nikon Coolpix S2900 is a stripped down version of the Coolpix S3700

Nikon Coolpix S2900 features a 20.1-megapixel CCD image sensor, just like the S3700. However, this compact comes with a 5x optical zoom lens offering a 35mm equivalent of 26-130mm.

Moreover, the lens does not offer VR technology, so users will have to be careful when taking photos at telephoto focal lengths. The maximum aperture of the lens stands at f/3.2-6.5.

The Coolpix S2900 camera supports a Scene Auto Selector mode, Target Finding AF, and 12 Glamour Retouch Effects, which can be found in the S3700, too.

This model also offers six Quick Effects and seven Special Effects, allowing photographers to get a little creative during a photo shoot.

Unfortunately, the exact availability details are unknown for the time being. However, these two compacts should not be very expensive and they should be released on the market soon.
