Olympus has taken the wraps off of a new interchangeable lens for Micro Four Thirds cameras. The company is praising the performance of its brand new lens, stating that it will meet “all of your professional shooting needs”.

This all-round lens comes with 10.7x optical zoom and will offer a 35mm focal length equivalent of 28-300. Its maximum aperture sits between f/4 and f/5.6, depending on the selected focal length.

The new Olympus 14-150mm f/4-5.6 II lens is weathersealed, meaning that it comes with a dustproof and splashproof build. When used in combination with a WR camera, photographers will be able to shoot even in harsh conditions.

The first generation of this optic was released in 2010. The new version features ZERO coating, that consists of a Zuiko Extra-Low Reflection Optical coating in order to reduce scratches as well as flare and ghosting.

Olympus 14-150mm f/4-5.6 II lens is based on an MSC system (Movie and Still Compatible), which delivers quick and silent autofocus when taking photos or videos.

The optic uses 7 diaphragm blades for beautiful bokeh and consists of 15 elements divided into 11 groups. Its magnification rate stands at 0.22x, while its minimum focusing distance stands at 50 centimeters.

The all-round zoom optic features an internal focus mechanism, so the front lens elements does not move when focusing.
