The Panasonic FZ300 fixed-lens camera might be announced in July 2015 and it could be joined by a bright telephoto lens designed for Micro Four Thirds cameras.

Once the summer vacation comes, the amount of digital camera news and rumors is greatly reduced. Nevertheless, some companies still announce products in both July and August. This year, it could be Panasonic’s turn to entertain us, as the Japan-based manufacturer may introduce at least two new products.

A source is reporting that Panasonic will hold a product launch event this July in order to reveal one camera and one lens. The former is said to consist of the rumored Lumix FZ300, while the latter may be the long-awaited 150mm f/2.8 telephoto prime.

Panasonic is rumored to reveal another FZ-series bridge camera in July 2015 in the body of the FZ300.

Panasonic FZ300 to be announced during a special event this July

Panasonic registered the FZ300 in mid-May 2015 on the Wi-Fi Alliance website. This is supposed to be a bridge camera that records 4K videos and which will be placed on the market somewhere below the FZ1000.

It has been registered alongside the Lumix G7, which has already been unveiled, and the Lumix GX8, which is supposed to become official during the third quarter of 2015. All cameras will come packed with built-in WiFi and NFC technologies, including the Panasonic FZ300.

As a reliable source is claiming that the bridge camera could be announced in July, we may see more of its specs being leaked on the market in the near future. For now, we can sit back and wait for further information.

Panasonic’s 150mm f/2.8 telephoto prime lens may finally be released this year

On the other hand, the company’s July announcement could include the 150mm f/2.8 lens. This bright telephoto prime has had its development confirmed a long time ago. For some reasons, Panasonic has delayed it, meaning that it is not yet available on the market.

The product will offer a high image quality and it will most likely be one of the most expensive optics for Micro Four Thirds cameras. It will be aimed at professional photographers who enjoy shooting sports and wildlife subjects, as it will offer a full-frame equivalent of 300mm.

As stated above, this optic is long overdue and Micro Four Thirds users are beginning to lose their patience. Hopefully, the source will get it right and the 150mm f/2.8 telephoto prime lens will finally become official in July.
