Panasonic GX8 announcement event will actually take place in September

Panasonic will not release the Lumix GX8 in May 2015, as previously rumored, as the mirrorless camera is actually scheduled to become official in September 2015.

The rumor mill has talked about the successor to the Panasonic GX7 several times in the past. It has been said that the mirrorless camera will become official at CP+ 2015, then another set of gossip talks has claimed that the device will be released sometime in May. However, the former timeframe is already wrong and it appears that the second one is also way off. In fact, this Lumix-series shooter will be unveiled this September and will be released sometime later this year.

The Panasonic GX7 camera appears to live even longer than expected, as the GX8 is now rumored to become official in September 2015.

The first rumors concerning the Lumix GX7 successor have showed up soon after Panasonic introduced this Micro Four Thirds camera. This is a mid-to-high-end mirrorless camera, but some whispers have said that the Lumix GX8 will be released one year after its predecessor as a low-end camera.

Unfortunately, the aforementioned rumors have turned out to be inaccurate, just like the ones that followed soon after. The mirrorless camera has not showed up at CP+ 2015 and it seems like it will not be released in May 2015, as another model will actually become available this spring.

The new Panasonic GX8 announcement date is rumored to take place sometime in September 2015. This means that the release date will occur later in 2015, more than two years after the introduction of its forerunner.

By the looks of it, two years will pass between the launch of the Lumix GX8 and the introduction of the Lumix GX7. Despite this fact, a different source has said that the upcoming model will not represent a huge improvement over the model currently available on the market.

Some gossip talks about the Panasonic GX8’s specs list were spread on the web, too. It was said that this Micro Four Thirds camera will be capable of recording videos at 4K resolution. This is a likely achievement, but you will have to take everything with a pinch of salt, as the rumors about this device have not been accurate enough to be fully-trusted so far.
