Using the Grunge Art Photoshop Action:
Create highly detailed and advanced effects with your photos with no work at all! This action is very easy to use, even for those who have just opened Photoshop for the first time. You just brush over your subject and play the action. It is really that simple. The action will do everything for you in just a few minutes resulting in a fully layered and editable result that you can further customize. Also, this grunge action is made so that every time you run the action, you will get a unique result, even if you use the same brushed area. You can create an unlimited number of results!
The Grunge Art action creates well named, organized, grouped and color coded layers.
We have prepared “Readme” file with instructions for you, and also have made detailed video tutorial demonstrating how to set up your photos, how to load and use the action and how to customize your results.
These actions are tested and working in Photoshop (English versions) CS3, CS4, CS5, CS6, CC, CC 2015.5, CC 2017+.’. The action is only working in English versions of Photoshop. If you are using another language, you can easy change it to English. After you play the action, you can change it back to your native language.
Watch Marko show just how easy it is to use the Grunge Art Photoshop Action:
How it works? It’s super simple!
When we say it is super simple to use, we really mean it. All you have to do after you open your photo is:
- Go to Layer > New > Layer to create a new layer and name it ‘brush’. Then while that layer is selected, using a ‘Brush Tool (B)’ brush over your subject (color pick is not matter).
- Select ‘GrungeArt’ action and just click Play.
First image on the left is the original photo. Image in the middle is how photo looked after we have brushed over the subject, and image on the right is the effect that action created!
Are final results editable? Yeah, they are fully customizable!
The actions create a fully layered and editable result. Here is how the layers panel looks after the action has finished and after we have customized the effect:
If you would now just remove all the layers except your photo ‘brush’ layers and just run the action again, you will get another unique result. Because the action is made so that every time you run the action you get a unique result even if you have used the same brushed area. The sketch lines and textures will always be differently arranged and deployed as the creation of those elements is randomized. You can create an UNLIMITED NUMBER OF RESULTS!
Check out the example above, we ran the action once and saved the result. That is the example on the left. Then we ran the action again using the same brushed area and we got the effect on the right.
And the results are fully customizable, after you play the action if you are not happy with first effect, you can always just delete all layers except your photo and ‘brush’ layers and just run the action again. (explained in video tutorial above)
Customizing the effect!
As you can see from the screenshot of the layers panel above the action creates a lot of layers and folders and that’s why there are a lot of options for customizing the effects that you get. To make it easy for you to customize the results, we’ve made sure that all layers and folders are named appropriately and color coded to create a clean working environment for you. We have made detailed video (see above) tutorial demonstrating:
- How to prepare your photo before you use the action for best results
- How to load the action and assets
- How to use the action
- How each layer works and how to customize the effects to get the most out of the effect, and achieve desired results
We are now going to demonstrate one powerful customization tip on changing colors.
So if you would like to quickly randomize colors, just select the ‘Overall Textures Color‘ layer and move its ‘Hue‘ slider. You can do the same for ‘G_1_Color‘ and ‘G_2_Color‘ layers. Here are the amazing effects we got in seconds on the mentioned way.
