The release date of the Samsung NX400 could be scheduled for February 2015, as the South Korean manufacturer is rushing things in order to make the mirrorless camera ready for CP+ 2015.

Samsung introduced one of the most advanced mirrorless cameras at Photokina 2014. The NX1 is packing an incredible specifications list that includes a 28-megapixel image sensor, 4K video recording, WiFi, and a tilting touchscreen.

The South Korea-based company will not focus solely on its high-end cameras, as there are other categories of photographers out there, too. As a result, the manufacturer will replace the existing NX300 series with a couple of new shooters. They are called NX400 and NX400-EVF and they could be released in February 2015.

Samsung NX1 will allegedly lend its sensor and autofocus system to the upcoming Samsung NX400. The mirrorless camera is rumored to be released in February 2015.

February 2015 rumored to house the Samsung NX400 release date

The Samsung NX400 release date has been rumored to take place sometime in 2015. Now, a trusted source is reporting that the mirrorless camera could be released in February 2015.

A major event, the CP+ Camera & Photo Imaging Show 2015, will open its doors on February 12. It appears that the company is aiming to make the NX300 replacement ready for this show, as it will get lots of exposure in the important Asian market.

This is most likely Samsung’s plan and it could turn out a reality if everything goes well in the development process.

Still, the Canon EOS C100 Mark II has been rumored to become official in early 2015, but Canon has taken everyone by surprise and it has announced this device a lot earlier. This means that anything is possible, including the fact that the NX300 could come sooner rather than later.

Samsung NX400 will feature NX1’s sensor and AF system

As for the specs list of the Samsung NX400, the mirrorless camera will employ the same image sensor as the flagship NX-mount shooter as well as its autofocus system.

The NX1 comes with a 28.2-megapixel APS-C sensor and a 205-point Phase Detection AF technology. Both of these could make their way into the NX400 and NX400-EVF. It is worth reminding that the former comes without an electronic viewfinder, while the latter will employ an EVF.

According to the source, the NX400 will not be weathersealed and will have a smaller buffer when compared to the NX1. However, its buffer will be larger than the one available in the NX300.

For the time being, the Samsung NX300 is available at Amazon for $485, a price that includes an 18-55mm OIS lens, while the Samsung NX1 can be bought for around $1,500 at the same retailer.
