Sigma has officially announced the price and availability information of the 18-35mm f/1.8 DC HSM Art lens for APS-C cameras.
The whole world of photography has been surprised when Sigma introduced the 18-35mm f/1.8 DC HSM Art lens. It is the first zoom lens ever created to support a maximum and constant aperture of f/1.8 throughout its focal range.

Sigma has attracted many positive reviews, but people have been expecting this product to be very expensive. However, the Japan-based manufacturer has other things in mind, as the 18-35mm optic does not have a hefty price tag.
According to the Japanese company, the Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 DC HSM Art lens price stands at $799. Its release date has been scheduled for early July with support for APS-C DSLR cameras from Canon and Sigma.
Shortly after the 18-35mm f/1.8 optic goes on sale, the manufacturer is planning to release the unit in multiple other mounts, too. The list includes Nikon, Sony, and Pentax, whose fans have already praised Sigma for its decision.

The Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 lens will provide different 35mm equivalents depending on camera type. Canon photographers will benefit from a 28.8-56mm range, while Sigma users will get a 30.6-59.5mm range.
On the other hand, Nikon, Sony and Pentax cameras will offer a focal range in 35mm format of 27-52.5mm since they all have a crop factor of about 1.5x.
The manufacturer has revealed that the lens’ constant aperture and focal length will allow photographers to use the product across various scenarios. Sigma adds that the 18-35mm f/1.8 optic is perfect for portrait, landscape, close-up, studio, and many other types of photography.

Sigma’s lens does not come packed with image stabilization technology. However, it does have a new AF/MF switch and it is a durable lens, as it is made out of Thermally Stable Composite materials.
Moreover, it is capable of reducing optical flaws, such as ghosting and flares, thanks to a Super Multi-Layer Coating. It consists of 17 elements split in 12 groups with 9 rounded diaphragm blades.
Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 lens weighs 1.79 lbs and measures 3.07-inch in diameter, respectively 4.76-inch in length. The product is supported by the Sigma USB dock, which can be purchased for $64.99 at Amazon.
