Sigma MC-11 adapter, EF-630 flash, and two cameras announced

Sigma has concluded its product launch event with the introduction of the MC-11 mount adapter, EF-630 electronic flash, and two new Quattro-series mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras.

Two new lenses have just been revealed by Sigma: 50-100mm f/1.8 DC HSM Art for DSLRs and 30mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary for mirrorless cameras. The Japanese manufacturer continues its series of announcements with a mount converter, a flash, and a pair of mirrorless cameras.

The MC-11 mounter converter will allow Sony E-mount users to mount the 19 Global Vision cameras on their cameras, while the EF-630 electronic flash will light up dark environments for Canon, Nikon, and Sigma camera owners.

Additionally, the development of the SD Quattro and SD Quattro H high-resolution mirrorless cameras has been confirmed by Sigma – all of them in a day’s work!

Sigma MC-11 is the mount adapter Sony mirrorless camera users were waiting for

The Sigma MC-11 mount adapter has been designed for Sony E-mount cameras, such as the new A6300. It will allow users to attach Sigma lenses on their shooters and, according to the company, all 19 Global Vision optics are compatible with it.

High-quality converters are hard to design, the official press release reads. However, the MC-11 is a marvelous piece of technology which supports autofocus. Moreover, the converter maintains image quality, as it exchanges data with the camera in order to make sure that optical flaws are addressed properly.

Some Sony E-mount cameras and some Sigma lenses feature built-in image stabilization technology. The MC-11 adapter ensures that the two systems will communicate with one another, so that camera shakes are kept to the minimum for sharp, blur-free images.

The Sigma MC-11 adapter is compatible with the USB Dock for future firmware updates. The converter will be available in two versions: Canon and Sigma mounts. For now, the release date and price details remain unknown, but they should be revealed soon.

Sigma EF-630 is a new clip-on electronic flash for SLRs

Another interesting accessory introduced by Sigma is the EF-630 flash. It announces itself as a clip-on flash for Canon, Nikon, and Sigma SLR cameras.

Sigma EF-630 flash comes packed with support for TTL exposure control and rear-curtain sync.

The new EF-630 electronic flash comes with support for TTL auto flash exposure and TTL wireless flash. Additionally, it supports rear-curtain sync and high-speed sync.

Its construction allows users to tilt it upwards by 90 degrees and to swivel it right or left by 180 degrees. The flash covers focal lengths from 24mm all the way to 200mm.

On the back of the Sigma EF-630, users will find an LCD screen to control the device’s settings. The product has been announced only for the Japanese market, with worldwide availability information to be revealed soon.

Sigma confirms development of SD Quattro and SD Quattro H mirrorless cameras

Finally, Sigma announced the development of two interchangeable lens cameras. The new SD Quattro series will be released in the future with Foveon X3 sensors capable of capturing high-resolution photos.

Sigma SD Quattro is a mirrorless camera with a 39-megapixel APS-C sensor. Its sibling, the SD Quattro H, will bear a 51-megapixel APS-H sensor.

The cameras are called SD Quattro and SD Quattro H. The former features an APS-C sensor that has a resolution of approximately 39 megapixels, while the latter employs an APS-H-format sensor with about 51 megapixels.

Sigma SD Quattro and SD Quattro H cameras will feature built-in electronic viewfinders.

Both units feature a Sigma SA-mount and will be compatible with the company’s Global Vision lens line-up. Their bodies are resistant to dust and splashes, so they can be used for photo shoots in harsh environments.

Sigma SD Quattro-series cameras will be compatible with all Sigma SA-mount Global Vision lenses.

Sigma’s SD Quattro and SD Quattro H mirrorless cameras feature a built-in electronic viewfinder and a 3-inch LCD screen on the back. A maximum ISO sensitivity of 6400 will sit at users’ disposal, while the shutter speed will range between 1/4000th of a second and 30 seconds with support for a Bulb mode of up to a couple of minutes.
