After having their official press photos leaked on the web, the specs of the upcoming Sony cameras were revealed by an inside source.

Sony will launch two new cameras and three new lenses soon. Previously, it was believed that the announcement will be made during the February 20th PlayStation event.

However, the latest information suggests that the company will hold a separate press event on February 25th, 2013, in order to reveal its new digital imaging products, whose pictures were already leaked online.

The Sony NEX-3N will become available soon for a price around $500, along with the SLT-A68 which will cost around $600. The announcement will be made on February 25th.

Sony A58 and NEX-3N will finally become official next week

According to an inside source, the Sony Alpha SLT-A58 will feature a 20-megapixel Exmor APS-C image sensor and an OLED viewfinder with 100 percent coverage. The APS-C shooter will be powered by a BIONZ processor and will come packed with burst mode support of 8 frames per second and an ISO range between 100 and 16,000.

Other details about the Sony A58 are the addition of Sweep Panorama and Clear Image Zoom features. The camera will be bundled with the new 18-55mm lens and will be available for a price around $600.

Moving on to the Sony NEX-3N, it was confirmed that the shooter will feature the same 16-megapixel Exmor APS-C image sensor found in the NEX-F3, tilting LCD display, built-in flash, an electronic zoom lever, burst mode of 4fps, and an ISO range between 200 and 16,000.

The mirrorless camera will be powered by the same BIONZ processor found in the SLT-A58. It will be released in Black and Silver flavors, paired with a 16-50mm lens for price around $500.

The two shooters will be joined by three new lenses

Three new lenses will also be introduced on February 25th. The first is a Carl Zeiss Planar T* 50mm f/1.4 ZA SSM lens, which will cost around $1,500. The second is a Sony 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 SAM II, that will become available for around $200, while the last is a Sony 70-400mm f/4-5.6G SSM II, which will be priced at a “staggering” $3,000.
