Star SAFIRE III camera spotted Dzhokhar Tsarnaev hiding in the boat
The United States has been struck with a terrorist attack on April 15. The FBI managed to come up with a list of two suspects, Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. The former has been killed in a firefight, while the latter was the subject of a massive manhunt, which ended with the Boston police finding him with a Star SAFIRE III camera.
DJI will release Phantom as built-in camera quadcopter
DJI will be releasing a version of its popular Phantom quadcopter with an integrated recorder. The 14 megapixel stills and 1080p Full HD video camera built-in camera will be monitored from the ground, using an iOS device.
Oldest piece of aerial photography shot over Boston in 1860
Aerial photography has its roots in France, towards the end of the 1850s. However, the earliest surviving aerial image has been captured by James Wallace Black, while flying in a hot air balloon, maneuvered by Samuel Archer King, over Boston, back in 1860. Black’s photo is the oldest piece of aerial photography known to mankind.
Hungarian team reveals world’s highest-resolution aerial ortho image
Breakthrough technologies and an aircraft have helped the Székesfehérvár organization of the Society for Military and Civil Cooperation and the Interspect Research Team to shoot the high resolution aerial ortho image, depicting the Military Memorial Park in Hungary, that cannot be displayed not even by Google Earth.
