Nikon 1 J3 and 1 S1 mirrorless cameras introduced with two Nikkor lenses
Nikon is trying to prove that it is getting serious with the mirrorless industry, so it has unveiled two new 1-series cameras, called J3 and S1, at the Consumer Electronics Show 2013. This duo continues the tradition set by the 1 V1 and 1 J1 mirrorless cameras introduced back in September 2011.
Sigma DP3 joins the Merrill family
Sigma has just introduced a new high-resolution compact camera. The new shooter features a 46-megapixel Foveon image sensor and one could say that Sigma’s DP3 Merrill compact digital camera creates the almost-perfect Merrill trio, as it offers solutions for all types of photographers.
Sony announced seven Cyber-shot cameras at CES 2013
Sony launched seven new Cyber-shot Digital Still Cameras powered by either Carl Zeiss or Sony lenses during the Consumer Electronics Show 2013. The list includes WX60, WX80, W710, W730, and WX200 compact cameras, as well as the H200 bridge camera and the TF1 rugged shooter.
Six Olympus Stylus cameras, including three rugged shooters, unveiled at CES 2013
Olympus has joined the CES 2013 bandwagon with six compact cameras, following the path set by Panasonic, Fujifilm, Canon, Nikon and Sony. These cameras makers have all unveiled a slew of cameras at the event which is underway at the Las Vegas Convention Center, and Olympus is the latest company to do so.
Canon PowerShot N unveiled at CES 2013
Driven by the rise of importance of social media networks in our lives, Canon has announced a solution that allows us to capture high-quality photos and to share them on Facebook. It goes by the name of PowerShot N and it employs a 12-megapixel sensor along with integrated WiFi connectivity.
Canon IXUS 140, PowerShot A3500 IS, A2600 and A1400 announced
After unveiling the PowerShot N point-and-shoot camera, Canon took its time to reveal four new compact cameras called IXUS 140, PowerShot A3500 IS, A2600 and A1400. The Canon IXUS 140 will be called ELPH 130 IS in the United States and Canada and will be released on the market soon.
Panasonic launches 10 Lumix cameras at CES 2013
Panasonic has joined the Consumer Electronics Show 2013 in order to unveiled a plethora of fixed-lens cameras. The manufacturer has taken the wraps off of 10 Lumix-branded cameras. There is a model for every type of photographer, including SLR-styled bridge cameras and point-and-shoot cameras.
Polaroid camera using Android gets to be David amongst Goliaths
World’s first interchangeable lens camera powered by the Android 4.1 “Jelly Bean” platform is finally unveiled. It has been developed by Polaroid and it is called iM1836. This mirrorless camera is reminiscent of the Nikon 1-series, but it comes with a Micro Four Thirds mount and built-in WiFi technology.
Fujifilm X100s and X20 photos leaked ahead of CES 2013
Fujifilm is preparing to announce a couple of new premium compact cameras. The models in question are the X100s and the X20. The former is expected to replace the X100 in the near future, while the latter is poised to succeed the X10, albeit the changelog will not be massive.
Samsung NX300 mirrorless camera revealed alongside 20.3MP sensor
In anticipation of the 2013 edition of the Consumer Electronics Show, Samsung has revealed the NX300 mirrorless camera. This device uses a Hybrid AF technology and a 20.3-megapixel APS-C sensor to capture beautiful photos in a quick, silent, and simple manner. The device will be on-display at CES 2013 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
