New Nikon DSLR camera announcement date set for January 17
A new Nikon DSLR camera is coming soon. According to the rumor mill, it will be announced in early January 2014. On the other hand, the company’s Middle East & Africa division is claiming that such a device will actually be unveiled on January 17 and will be offered as a grand prize in an interesting photo competition.
Nikon D5300 launch date set for Consumer Electronics Show 2014
Earlier this year, Nikon has confirmed that it will focus on low-end and mid-tier DSLRs. Driven by poor sales and the ever fiercer competition, the company must deliver newer entry-level cameras with more powerful features. One of these devices is the Nikon D5300, which is rumored to replace the D5200 at CES 2014 this January.

Last year, Nikon planned to replace its lower-end cameras, therefore the DX-format D3100 / D5100 / D300S were taken off the market along with the FX-format D700. This year, things will change as Nikon is preparing to renew its high-end DX and FX series with a D7000 replacement and a new D4X DSLR.
