New Nikon D600 and D800 firmware updates released for download
Nikon has decided to release a couple of firmware updates for two of its cameras, the D600 and the D800. D600 owners hoping to have the dust accumulation problems fixed will have to wait, as these two DSLR cameras will now support the expensive AF-S Nikkor 800mm f/5.6E telephoto lens, while having some of their bugs fixed.
Nikon releases new firmware updates for six cameras
Shortly after April Fools’ Day had been over, Nikon took the decision of surprising the owners of its DSLR cameras with new firmware updates. Both the D600 and D800 received new software, but six other cameras are upgradeable, too. Even though there are no major changes, some owners will welcome the new firmware updates.
Panasonic Lumix GH3 firmware update 1.1 now available for download
Panasonic has finally released firmware update 1.1 for its Lumix DMC-GH3 camera. The mirrorless shooter is now faster when autofocusing, though users will also have to upgrade their lenses. The Micro Four Thirds system can also be connected to WiFi by entering a Mac’s NetBIOS name, as of this software upgrade.
Leica M firmware update 126.96.36.199 released for download
Leica has released a firmware update for one of its most popular current cameras, the M (Type 240). The full frame rangefinder system can be upgraded to firmware update 188.8.131.52, in order to fix an issue which caused a lot of headaches to photographers who purchased the German-engineered camera.
Nikon Capture NX 2.4.1 update released to support the new D7100 DSLR
Nikon has released a slew of software and firmware updates for several of its programs. The reason for the simultaneous release is the recently-launched Nikon D7100. The camera is now compatible with the Capture NX and Camera Capture Pro software, and with the Wireless Remote Controller WR-R10 accessory among many others.
Canon 6D firmware update to be released in May or June
Canon will release several firmware updates for its cameras by the end of 2013. The company has already released updates for plenty of its cameras and three more are scheduled to become available in the following months. However, there is room for one more as the rumor mill says the EOS 6D will also be updated soon.
Panasonic SZ5 and SZ9 firmware update 1.1 available for download now
Panasonic has chosen March 2013 as the perfect month to release firmware updates for several of its cameras. The Japan-based company has launched firmware update 1.1 for both the DMC-SZ5 and DMC-SZ9, while the Lumix GH3 and three lenses are scheduled to receive a software upgrade by the end of March.
Pentax K-30 and K-01 firmware update 1.03 available for download now
Pentax received heavy criticism after the company released a firmware update which broke what it was supposed to fix. However, the company released a new software version, 1.03, in order to finally fix the bug which caused the contrast autofocus system to stop working, while recording videos with a variety of lenses.
Canon S100 and S110 firmware update 184.108.40.206 released for download
Canon took its time to release an update for both of its PowerShot S100 and S110 cameras. The 220.127.116.11 firmware update for the S100 and S110 can be downloaded right away, in order to fix a bug causing the control ring to malfunction. Additionally, Canon’s update fixes a WiFi connection problem on the S110 high-end compact camera.
Canon announces release date for 1D X and 5D Mark III firmware update
Canon came under scrutiny after users complained that the EOS 1D X and 5D Mark III cameras are having focus problems when using the Speedlite AF Assist Beam. The company acknowledged the issues and announced that it will release a pair of firmware updates to fix the slow focus issues this Spring.

Canon is actively working on improving its cameras. The Japanese manufacturer has released a firmware update for its C300 camcorder. Firmware version 22.214.171.124.00 can be downloaded now by Mac OS X and Windows PC users, in order to fix several issues found in the C300 / C300PL EOS cinema camera.
Canon 1D C update bringing 4K at 25fps video recording this summer
The Canon 1D C was released as the world’s first 4K-ready DSLR camera. It became available in October 2012 as a camera capable of recording 4K videos at 23.976 frames per second. The manufacturer announced a service upgrade for it, an update that will finally remove the 23.976 fps limit.
Rumor: Canon EOS M firmware update to be released soon?

Pentax launched a new digital compact camera for entry-level users called Efina, a shooter which will have serious competition as Sony, Olympus, Samsung, and Panasonic unveiled their line of point-and-shooters at CES 2013. The digital imaging company also announced the availability of firmware update 1.01 for its DSLR cameras, the K-II and K-IIs.
