Three new Nikon lenses to be announced within days

Featured Products

Nikon will announce three new lenses in the near future, that is the 500mm f/4 FX, 600mm f/4 FX, and 16-80mm f/2.8-4 DX, all of them having been rumored in recent times.

The rumor mill has revealed that Nikon will introduce three new optics this summer. The details were leaked in mid-June and they said that the products in question were the 500mm and 600mm super-telephoto lenses with a maximum aperture of f/4, designed for full-frame cameras, and the 16-80mm f/2.8-3.5 DX standard zoom lens for APS-C DSLRs.

A trusted source has now leaked the specifications of the three new Nikon lenses, while revealing the fact that the optics will become official sometime within the next few days.

Nikon AF-S 400mm f/2.8E FL ED VR lens will lend its electromagnetic diaphragm, fluorite element, and image stabilization system to the upcoming 500mm f/4 and 600mm f/4 super-telephoto lenses.

Nikon set to introduce new 500mm f/4 and 600mm f/4 telephoto primes soon

The upcoming Nikon 500mm f/4 FX lens will feature a fluorite element designed to increase the image quality of the optic. Additionally, it will employ three ED elements and a fluorine coating.

It seems like the autofocus system has been revamped, allowing the lens to offer faster, more reliable AF when tracking subjects in motion. The optic will come packed with built-in Vibration Reduction technology, providing up to four stops of stabilization.

The specs list also includes an electromagnetic diaphragm and a special VR mode for sports photographers.

The same details are valid for the Nikon 600mm f/4 FX lens. It seems like both models will be lighter than their predecessors. These models will join the AF-S Nikkor 400mm f/2.8E FL ED VR super-telephoto prime on the market.

Nikon 16-80mm f/2.8-4G DX is on its way, too, for travel photographers

On the other hand, it seems like the rumored standard zoom lens will come packed with a maximum aperture of f/2.8-4 instead of f/2.8-3.5, as initially rumored.

The upcoming Nikon 16-80mm f/2.8-4 DX lens will employ an ED element, an electromagnetic diaphragm, a fluorine coating, and a Nano Crystal coating.

It will feature an optical image stabilization system offering up to four f-stops of stabilization, so it will be useful in low-light conditions.

This optic will provide a 35mm focal length equivalent of 24-120mm and it might become the perfect travel lens for photographers using DX-format DSLRs.

For the time being, the price details are unknown, but they should be revealed soon, as the three new Nikon lenses will be introduced in the neighboring future!
