The Ultimate Shootsac Lens Bag Giveaway + Discount Code

The Ultimate Shootsac Lens Bag Giveaway + Discount Code

This contest is now over. If you were not lucky this time, remember you can get $25 off a $75+ purchase at Shootsac by using the discount code: MCPSS12. Code expires 7/31/12.

The winner is Lauren Elizabeth Henry. Entry #602.  Shootsac will be in touch about the prize!

Every hobbyist and professional photographer with a d-SLR needs a way to carry his or her gear. I love using my Shootsac while taking pictures to hold extra lenses and extra “stuff.”  It holds your lenses and a flash while you carry your camera and do what you are best at – taking pictures!

The winner of this contest will get a newly redesigned Shootsac lens bag + choice of any one cover, subject to availability. I have had a Shootsac for years, and just got the newest version.  It is even better than before – it has wider pockets so it easily fits my Canon 70-200 2.8 and it has swivel hooks so you don’t get tangled.  I love the stylish new covers, but since I have a LOT of covers, the best news is that my older covers fit my new bag.

Enter now. Here’s how…

The Prize:

  • Shootsac Lens Bag with your choice of one cover, subject to availability.
  • PROMO CODE for all: Everyone gets $25 off a $75+ purchase at Shootsac by using the discount code: MCPSS12. Code expires 7/31/12.

To Enter:

Add your comments on our blog post (not on our Facebook Wall/Notes section – these will NOT count)

For your main entry, reply to the questions below:

  • Imagine if you could go anywhere in the world for just one hour, by magically snapping your fingers.  In this “vision” you have your camera, three lens and a Shootsac.  What destination would you pick and what three lenses would you bring (and you do not need to currently own them)?
  • “Like” MCP Actions on Facebook unless you don’t use Facebook (go here to “like us” if you have not prior).

Increase your odds of winning. Do any or all of these extra credit items (add a comment/extra entry for each):

  1. Upload a photo on the MCP Actions Facebook Wall that you edited using MCP’s Photoshop actions or Lightroom Presets (they can be the free ones if you haven’t bought any yet). Tell us what actions or presets you used. For this to count, come back to this post and leave a comment letting us know you added one.
  2. Spread the word about MCP Actions products, contest, or blog. Do this on social networking sites, your blog, or photo forums, as permitted. Comment and us know where you shared. For ease, use the Share Links for Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Google Plus, Stumble Upon, and more. One extra comment/entry per place shared. (Here is a sample tweet: Win a @Shootsac Lens Bag? via @mcpactions. Go here to enter: http://tinyurl.com/ssbag-giveaway  #photography #photog)
  3. Visit Shootsac on Facebook and let them know that MCP Actions sent you
  4. Add one of the following to your blog: MCP Actions Banner (html code on the sidebar of our blog) OR or a text link to our website (something like “MCP Photoshop Actions” or “MCP Lightroom Presets”)

Contest Rules:

This contest is sponsored by Shootsac and MCP Actions. It is open to participants only where permitted by law.

Winner will be picked via random drawing on the evening of Sunday, July 1st and announced on the MCP Blog at the top of this post. Winners will also be contacted by email.Odds are winning are 1/# of entries. Increase your odds by participating in our extra credit items.

Usually I would pick one of the exotic destinations I dream of visiting someday like Thailand or Bhutan, but in the past few days there have been many photos and stories about my home state, Montana, and the fires they are having. I would want to snap my fingers and be on location for one of those fires. I would bring my 5D Mark ii with EF 24-105mm IS lens, my new Canon EF 50mm f1.4 USM Standard & Medium Telephoto Lens and because I have always wanted to play with a fisheye lens I would take this opportunity to try one.

I would bring some long telephoto lenses: 70-200 f/2.8, and since we’re doing this by magic, the 800mm f/5.6L IS USM, and then maybe the 16-35 f/2.8 for some magical landscapes – a girl can dream, right? 😉

I grew up in and around London and have been in California for the past 17 years. I miss home so much, especially the city. Since I’ve been gone I’ve been married, become a mother, and now a photographer. So, I would love to take my camera, alone (sorry, I love my daughter but she’s 3 and won’t stand still long enough for a good shot) back to London, to try and capture some images of the London I know, love, and remember, for the walls around my house – to bring a little bit of “home” back with me.

I would bring my Tokina 11-16mm 2.8 lens for some beautiful wide angles of cityscapes and historic architecture, a 70-200mm 2.8 for lurking on city streets and capturing more photojournalistic shots, and my 24-70mm 2.8 for everything inbetween. I think that would cover the full spectrum!

I LIKE MCP on Facebook. Love me some Jodi!

If I could go anywhere, I would love to Machu Pichu, Peru. It’s the first thing that popped into my head when I read the question. My mom was born in Peru and has been to Machu Pichu. Everyone says it is So magical. I love that I could be where people took such strength, intelligence, and endurance to build a home in a location as mesmerizing as the mountains of Peru. And lived quite well for so long. It’s kind of like the pyramids. We are surrounded by technologies that do everything for us that to go there, be back to basics… Although if I could have my technology with me… My camera and three favorite lens’ (50mm 1.2, 70-200 2.8, and 24-70 2.8) I would be the happiest girl in the world. However for this trip I would probably sneak in a fish eye and a macro. To be in Machu Pichu and not have EVERYTHING with you would be a shame hahahah.

Awesome. I was just dreaming out loud the other day about how I would love to go to Ireland. I couldn’t dream of going without my Cannon 5D Mark ii (of course I wouldn’t mind if it was a 5D Mark iii :). And I do believe it would be the 24-70mm that would be a must to come along. Along with the 70-200mm and a macro lens. One of my friends actually happens to be going to Ireland this week and I am sooo beyond jealous!

Yay for shoot sac! I would want to travel our own beautiful country: Boston, Mass. with the freedom trail, New York during fall and Christmas time, capturing the beauty of the season, Arizona and the Grand Canyon and Sedona. America has so much to offer, why go anywhere else? I would take my trusty Canon with my 35mm 1.4, 50mm 1.2 and 85mm 1.2. And of course, a super spiffy shootsac to tote them all in!

In my dreams, I’d go back to my younger son’s birth country. We’d meet his birth mother and she’d see just what a beautiful, smart, charismatic boy he is. I’d be a fly on the wall, taking pics with my 24-70, some detail shots with an 85 1.2, and maybe a 70-200 in case I have room to back up. I know this is all in my head because even if such a meeting ever could occur, I wouldn’t want to ruin the tenderness of the occasion by playing paparazzi. I just wish she could see how wonderful he is and I wish I could freeze the look of amazement I imagine she’d have on her face when she sees him again after 5 years.

If I could go anywhere in the world, it would be to Paris. I took 9 years of French in school and was fluent by the time I finished high school, but I never had a chance to travel anywhere I actually needed to be able to speak it! I would bring an 85mm, for great portrait shots in front of the Eiffel Tower. I’d also bring a 24-70mm for wide angle shots of the city. Then last but not least I’d bring a zoom, maybe a 300mm so I can go up the Tower and take shots of different landmarks (The Louvre, The Arc de Triomphe, etc) right from there. It would be awesome!

Thanks for the chance to win!

If I could go anywhere in the world to shoot something it would be the east coast, like Boston or New England with my family. I love the green and beautiful buildings that I see in other people’s photos and I would love the texture and story they would add to my monthly family pictures that I take of my girls. My favorite lenses are my nifty 50, my 24mm that I inherited from my grandpa and my dream lens the 70-200. It is the last lens on my wish list….until I purchase it and then I’m sure to start drooling over another. 😉

Wow if I had the opportunity to magically show up anywhere for an hour I think I’d go to a championship round of the Equestrian section of the Olympics in London this summer. Either stadium jumping or cross-country would be fantastic to watch. As for lenses I would need my 70-200 f2.8 for sure and I’d love to have a 100-400 f4.5-6 and in case the scenery is amazing a 24-70 f2.8 would be handy. Imagine if you could go anywhere in the world for just one hour, by magically snapping your fingers. In this “vision” you have your camera, three lens and a Shootsac. What destination would you pick and what three lenses would you bring (and you do not need to currently own them)?

That’s nearly impossible to narrow down! The tropics are stunning. I’ve always wanted to see New Zealand, Scotland, and India. But, if I only had an hour? Probably Alaska. I want to see the Northern Lights.

I’d take the three lenses I have – while they’re not much, I do know how to use them! That’s more important than fancy, at this stage. I’d take my 50mm, 55-250mm, and 15-85 stock lens.

  530. June 30, 2012 at 11:59 am — Reply

Oh wow, where would I go? There’s so many places I’d love to visit. I think I’d have to go with Poland, I’ve only been back once since moving to Canada at the age of 6 and would love to see more of it. The lenses I would take with me would be a 50mm f/1.4, a 70-200mm f/2.8 for zoom, and maybe the 100mm f/2.8 macro. Now that’s a dream!! 🙂

If we’re violating the laws of physics enough that a snap of the fingers will teleport me faster than the speed of light, we might as well time travel while we’re at it! I’d spend an hour documenting the first moments of the life of a major religious figure: Siddharta, Jesus, Ghandi, Mohammed, etc. Doesn’t matter which one, really, but how amazing would it be to have that glimpse into the emergence of something now seen to be holy? As I read everyone’s entry, I could think of a bunch of “vacation destinations” I would love to go to, but really only place comes to mind right now– home. Home is where my heart is, and I don’t visit as much as I should. I would bring my 70-200mm, an 85mm, and a 50mm.

If I could go anywhere in the world, today I would say Edmonton…I know its not fancy or wild, but my biological sister lives there. I have only met her in person a few times and I want to meet her fiance and son. THey were supposed to be here, now, but had to cancel the trip due to car troubles. I would take my Nikon D300 with my 50mm 1.8, 85mm 1.8 and 70-300mm 4.5-5.6. 🙂

  721. July 1, 2012 at 10:54 am — Reply

I would go to Japan-the land of my ancestors. I would take a 10.5 mm2.8 fisheye for landscapes, a 24-70 mm/2.8 for portraits and events. And the third lens I would take would be a 200-400 telephoto for any wildlife or close ups I want. Pretty ambitious for just an hour’s worth of shooting though! Once equipped like that, I would definitely have to return for a couple of weeks!

Thanks for giving me a moment to “dream” and set some goals!

(who doesn’t love the absolute happiest place on earth?!?)

    3 lenses:

35 1.4 for capturing the fireworks (Illuminations) at Epcot!
70-200 4L IS for capturing the joy on my toddler’s face while on the kiddy rides 🙂
    24-70 2.8 –Walk around lens!

If I could snap my fingers and be anywhere, it would have to be Italy. I think it is romantic and would be an awesome photo shoot. The three lenses I would take would be: Canon Zoom Lens EF-S 10-22mm, Canon Lens EF 85mm, and Canon Zoom Lens EF 70-200mm. This gives my my wide angles, zoom and close-ups for all my shooting. I currently use a backpack and is very bulky and not easy to switch from lens to lens. I typically only carry one lens because of the hassle of switching. What a great idea for a camera bag. Currently am a a FB fan, love your page and ideas. Thanks for holding the contest, good luck to all who entered.

I would go to the Southern USA, maybe New Orleans. I was able to go there several years ago and it was absolutely amazing. I would love to back with great gear and get some worthy images. I would have to take 24-105mm, 70-200mm 2.8, 16-35mm 2.8 although I really love the ease of using my inexpensive 18-200mm 3.5 lens because one lens grabs all of those lengths, the weight isn’t bad, I don’t have to freak out about anything happening to a $1000.+ lens while traveling and the photos are still great quality – now if it were only a 2.8…. and since it is so small and nobody would notice, one extra – of course, my 50mm 1.8 😉

Without a doubt, I would go to Machu Pichu in Peru. It is on the very TOP of my bucket list! Physical handicaps and a suppressed immune system might keep me from getting there in real life… SO, getting there in the snap of a finger would be A DREAM!!! sigh. what a lovely thought! I would bring my 70-200mm 2.8, 100mm for close ups (cant get enouh) & a wide angle. I have the 14-24 or 16-35 on my wishlist!

I would love to be transported to my parents home on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. I currently live in St. Louis so I would LOVE the change of scene. I would take my 50mm that lives on my camera and is my lightest fastest lens. I would take a 24-70 to take some wide landscape shots – especially sunset over the Choptank River. And then maybe my 300mm to capture some wildlife.. blue herons, wood ducks etc… But I’d mostly use my 24-70 to get some great pictures of my parents who have been married 44 years and deserve to get some great couple shots (and, of course, some with the grandkids).

If I could be transported anywhere in the world it would have to be heaven so see my parents one last time. MY mother dies 8 years ago and my dad died 5 years later almost to the date. If I had the lens I would take the Canon 50mm 1.2, 24-70 and a macro. I only have one photo of my parents ( they were divorced when I was very little) together that was taken when I was a baby. I wold love to get at least one more photo of both of them as I miss them something awful.

Snap of the fingers, anywhere in the world… For only 1 hour (that part makes it tough). Japan, in the spring, to see the cherry blossoms.
