Halloween is such a fun time of year.  I love dressing up, and so do my kids. If you missed our 2010 costumes, see us  in our Halloween costumes here.

But the real reason you are reading this post might be to see who Ellie and Jenna picked for the winner of the Bag of Tricks Photoshop action set – Halloween Contest Giveaway. Ellie and Jenna had a REALLY hard time deciding and loved looking through all of the images. All runners up whose images are shown below can get 10% off Photoshop actions at the MCP Actions Store today and tomorrow only. Please contact me at jodi@mcpactions.com if you are the grand prize or runners up photo to claim your prize or code. And indicate which photo belongs to you.

For more details on the photos below, such as which Photoshop actions were used, or what photographer shot each image, you can find the information on either the MCP Facebook Fan Page or the MCP Blog under comments for the contest. I did not label images with the photographer’s names to keep things completely fair.

After much debate and discussion, my twins picked this clown image for the grand prize.  They just could not get over the hair! They also loved the colors.  Guess they take after me, loving colorful images.

Best set of actions you will EVER buy! Bag of Tricks is the BEST set of actions I have ever purchased! I just shot 32 family mini sessions on a white backdrop in studio and it saved me SO MUCH EDITING in making the backdrop really white! Thanks Jodi!!! (Posted on 11/21/12)

Saved a portrait for me! LOVE! I had a late afternoon fall sky that was heavily graduated in color. I was at my wits’ end and had tried everything I could think of to eliminate the banding in the color changes in the gradient. Nothing was working.I’d used Fake Blue Sky before with great results on a blown out sky. Well one part of the sky in this was blown out. I wonder? And holy cow! It worked. I selected the entire sky (even non blown out shades of blue) and turned on all three blues and lowered the opacity of the entire folder and it minimized the banding quite well. Thanks, Jodi!!! BLEACH PEN = MIRACLE WORKER I am a wedding photographer and have the WORST time with my brides dresses picking up the color of whatever she is standing next to. The bleach pen makes her dress a beautiful white without blowing out the dress. I love it! THANK YOU MCP! (Posted on 5/18/11)

Worth every penny! I am a volunteer photographer with http://www.nilmdts.org, doing sessions for families dealing with infant loss. Many of my little subjects have discolored skin. Red skin has been a particularly hard issue for me to address, and I have tried dozens of different ways to pull the red out without leaving the skin tone looking weird. I finally bit the bullet and purchased the Bag of Tricks last weekend and was in awe of how well it worked on one particularly red baby that I’d been struggling to edit. When I sent the images to the mom, she cried tears of happiness that she finally felt like she had an image she could share with other people.I’ve been playing with the magic black drop and studio white, plus the color safe bleach and the reflected color cast vanisher. I’m thrilled to have this set in my arsenal and it has already proved it’s worth. Thank you, Jodi! (Posted on 3/2/11)

Fabulous! These are the worth every penny!. They’ve sped up my clean up time and they are just amazing! I use them on every single photo I edit. I’m pretty sure I’ve used every single action at one time or another too so I don’t feel like I paid for just a few favorites. You won’t regret having these in your arsenal. (Posted on 10/20/10)

seriously you need thisI bought this action when it first came out and used it almost exclusively to brighten and even out my high key backgrounds. Worth the $99 just for this action however recently I took the time to play around with several of the other actions in this set and OMG why did I wait so long! Simply one of the best time savers I have bumped into. I am not a big action user, only one other set gets used everyday and now I have two that I can’t live without. Thanks Jodi! Changing my life!! Jodi–little bag of tricks is changing my life every day! Haahaa! No but seriously…the set has really helped my photography and my clients are so happy. I have booked more sessions then ever before! You are fabulous! I doubt you hear it enough! Thank you thank you!!! (Posted on 10/20/10)

MCP Studio Magic Spells are awesome I did a photo shoot yesterday of two different clown magicians. I needed to really make the colors burst and make the background as white as possible. This set certainly helped with that. I really like the Studio White Bright Spell. The beauty of this action is that you can run it several times (if needed) and since it flattens layers each time it runs then you need not worry about doing that before repeating the action. This is helpful especially if one’s lighting setup is limited and it helps with eliminating wrinkles on a white background that may have not been lit as well as it could have. This saved me time in post-processing.Keep ’em coming, Jodi! (Posted on 10/20/10)

Fantastic! Struggling with clean processing (more of a B&W and vintage processor usually), these have been a tremendous help. Helping me remove color casts I had not even noticed before- especially in clothing- who knew? Whiter whites, whiten teeth- love the Bleach Pen! It can even make them brighter too! Red face person? The Sunburn Vanisher- really works. And the Reflected Color Cast Vanisher- LOVE this tool! I also really love the Grass Is Greener action, I play it out a few times, sometimes, choosing different shades of green each time to get a nice varied green in my images. These actions really help me get to from start to finish faster, much faster than I was going before on my own. (With better results too!)Thank you so much!(Posted on 10/20/10)

Why did I wait? ‘Bag of Tricks saved in time much more than their cost in the first week I had them…maybe in the first day! The actions do just what they say without being overdone. I have taken a couple of workshops here, so I have learned to perform several of these techniques manually, but the single click using the action is a real timesaver and then adjust to taste. In a word…AWESOME! Thanks Jodi! (Posted on 10/20/10)

Worth every penny The actions in Bag of Tricks have pretty much become my workflow. Magic Midtone Lift, contrast, light and dark and see-saw are indispensable. I use at least one on every picture. Prior to owning these, I used curves to do a midtone bump and for color correction. Magic See Saw is so much easier and better. My skin tones look great and I can edit much more quickly. (Posted on 10/20/10)

Helped me so much with my workflow I was getting used to what I wanted to do in photoshop and how I would go about doing it but my ‘workflow’ was taking way too long. The Bag of Tricks provided me with a checklist of actions available at my fingers tips to go though as I choose. It really helped streamline my work flow. Love it! I also use Magic Skin and Eye Dr and Dentist. (Posted on 10/20/10)

Wow! The Bag of Tricks Action Set is Amazing! Jodi, This set was purchased by me toward the end of my senior high school photo shoots and was simply amazing! I have used the color safe bleach to make the “whites” whiter. The bleach pen is amazing on the whites of the eyes too. I have used the sunburn vanisher to remove extreme redness and it works great. I have to say that the Magic Light, Contrast & Clarity have saved me so much time. Thank you for your wonderful actions! LOVE THEM ALL! (Posted on 10/20/10)

The Color Cast action is indispensable. I have been using MCP actions for quite a while now and just last week picked up the “ÖBag of Tricks’ action set.I can say that the Magic Clarity action as well as the Color Cast action are indispensable! Every portrait visits the Eye Doctor action and occasionally needs to a take a trip to the Dentist action, what I love most about the Dentist action is its reality and doesn’t at all looked significantly air brushed! I can’t begin to describe what a time saver the Magic Blog It Boards and Print It Boards have been, especially when it comes to my Wedding Photography and album design. I just wanted to take a moment to say thanks for making my life a whole lot easier and cutting down on my post-processing time. (Posted on 10/20/10)

I love it and use it on almost every picture! I had the pleasure of winning this set and I will say it’s your best set yet Jodi! I love it and use it on almost every picture! I could not live without it and would pay double if I had to! I LOVE how interactive it is and tailors to each of my photos! Recovery is awesome at low opacity and I LOVE Reflected Color Cast Vanisher, Color Safe Bleach, Beach Pen and Magic Dynamic Range is lots of fun! This set is a MUST HAVE! (Posted on 10/20/10)

Now my skin tones are perfectly creamy and golden! No matter how I color corrected my photos, the skin was always a bit too blue. Blue Skin Vanisher from the Bag of Tricks action set has changed all that! Now my skin tones are perfectly creamy and golden – never blue and cold. Thanks MCP! (Posted on 10/20/10)

I have taken many of her workshops including private mentoring. I have purchased many of her collections and by far the Bag of Tricks is my favorite! It alone changed my photography.
