Canon will not announce a camera at the August 21 event after all, says the rumor mill. According to the latest batch of information, the company will introduce a cloud-based photo sharing service. At the moment, it is an invitation-only service at the Project 1709 website, but it will shed its beta status in less than three weeks.

Adobe releases Lightroom 5.2 and Camera RAW 8.2 RC updates

Adobe has issued a pair of software updates for Lightroom and Camera RAW for Photoshop CS6. As a result, the Lightroom 5.2 and Camera RAW 8.2 are available for download. Both of them are Release Candidate versions, but they will become final, if the testers do not find any major bugs in the programs.

Panasonic has also announced the Leica DG Nocticron 42.5mm f/1.2 lens, right after introducing the Lumix GX7 camera. The Leica-branded optic has become the fastest ever for Micro Four Third shooters. It will be welcomed by street as well as portrait photographers using Panasonic or Olympus cameras sometime later this year.
