The list of organizations include Sony, Panasonic, and Olympus, all of them trying to grab a little bit more market share from the giants, such as Canon and Nikon.

NASA Photo Tournament, which premiered this year, announced its winner – a photo of an underwater volcanic eruption in El Hierro, Spain. The competition included 32 satellite images, either true color photographs, or computer assisted visualizations, judged by public voting.

Some police officers do not like being under the spotlight. A lot of them believe that photographers are criminals, who belong in jail. Such is the case of Adam Pringle, who has been arrested by a couple of San Diego policemen. The officers claimed that smartphones can be used as weapons so they took Adam into custody.
Canon EOS M Bay Blue edition officially revealed
Canon Japan took its time to introduce a new color option for the EOS M camera. It is the fifth color version of the mirrorless shooter and it is entitled Bay Blue. The new Canon EOS M will become available on the market in two week’s time. However, the differences between Bay Blue and the other four choices are limited to their appearance.
Michele Palazzi wins Environmental Photographer of the Year 2013
The Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM) has officially announced that Michele Palazzi is the winner of the Environmental Photographer of the Year 2013 title. Palazzi won the prestigious award thanks to a touching photo of a young boy and his sister playing during a sandstorm in the Gobi desert.

George Eastman House is the first photo museum to feature in Google Art Project
