Panasonic has taken the wraps off of a 150mm f/2.8 lens prototype at the Photokina 2012. However, the product has never made it to the market. Sources are claiming that manufacturing issues have kept it away from the market. However, the manufacturing issues are gone now so the Panasonic 150mm f/2.8 lens release date is Photokina 2014.
Canon EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM lens officially unveiled
It is finally happening! Reliable sources have revealed that this is Canon’s “year of the lenses” at the beginning of 2014. After remaining quiet for more than four months, Canon’s first optic of 2014 is official. Canon EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM lens has just been revealed as a replacement for the EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM lens.
Canon EF 16-35mm f/4L IS USM lens becomes official
Canon has taken the wraps off of its second lens of the day. The Canon EF 16-35mm f/4L IS USM lens is finally official as a wide-angle zoom optic designed for EOS DSLR cameras with full frame image sensors. The new product will be released in the following weeks as a cheaper alternative to the EF 16-35mm f/2.8L USM lens.
Parrot Bebop AR Drone 3.0 announced with Oculus Rift support
Parrot has launched the company’s third generation aerial drone. The AR Drone 3.0, also known as the Parrot Bebop, features a built-in 14-megapixel camera with an f/2.2 lens that offers a field-of-view of 180 degrees. Alongside the Bebop, Parrot has launched the Skycontroller, an accessory that brings support for Oculus Rift 3D VR display.
Sony A7S release date and price said to be July and $1,800
Sony has launched the A7S mirrorless camera with a full frame sensor and 4K video recording capabilities at the beginning of April 2014. The company has not yet revealed the availability details of the device. However, the rumor mill is claiming that the Sony A7S release date and price are actually July 2014 and $1,800, respectively.
Olympus OM-D full frame mirrorless camera coming at Photokina 2014
Olympus is rumored to introduce a new camera this year. The device would offer a full frame image sensor and will be compatible with Sony E-mount lenses, an anonymous source has said.
