Adobe Lightroom is pretty good at cataloging your photos. It is also great at editing and processing among others. However, sometimes photographers want to use something else for processing. Well, DxO Optics Pro 9.5 update has just been released, allowing users to import Lightroom catalogs without decreasing image quality.
Zeiss Touit 50mm f/2.8 Macro lens release date is May 27
B&H Photo Video has officially announced that the Zeiss Touit 50mm f/2.8 Macro lens release date has been scheduled for May 27. The optic has already been launched for Fujifilm X-mount cameras, but now it is time for the lens to finally become available for Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras with APS-C-sized image sensors.
Olympus E-M1 firmware update 1.4 released for download
Olympus has released for download a pair of firmware updates for a pair of its OM-D Micro Four Thirds cameras. The E-M1 is now upgradeable to firmware version 1.4, while the lower-end E-M10 can be upgraded to firmware version 1.1. Both updates come with minor improvements, although they will make a difference for the users.
Olympus 12-150mm f/4-6.3 IS lens patented for MFT cameras
Olympus has patented a new lens for Micro Four Thirds cameras. The patent has been applied in Japan and it reveals that the company is working on a Olympus 12-150mm f/4-6.3 IS lens. It will provide a 35mm focal length equivalent of 28-300mm and it could replace the aging ED 14-150mm f/4-5.6 wide-angle to telephoto zoom lens.
Fujifilm X30 announcement date rumored to be July 3
Fujifilm is rumored to hold a product launch event on July 3. According to a source, July 3 is the Fujifilm X30 announcement date. This compact camera will feature a 1-inch-type X-Trans CMOS image sensor and will be joined by another model. It is called Fujifilm X70 and it is said to be a “cheaper compact camera based on the X100”.
Canon EF 50mm f/1.2L II USM lens mentioned in EOS C100 video
A promotional video, in which filmmaker Philip Bloom is praising the capabilities of the Canon EOS C100 camcorder after being upgraded to support the Dual Pixel CMOS AF technology, is mentioning the unannounced Canon EF 50mm f/1.2L II USM lens. This suggests that the optic could be in the works and could be unveiled soon.
Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS lens successor coming soon
Canon is developing a new L-designated lens, sources say. It seems like the next announcement will take place during the third quarter of 2014 and will consist of the Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM lens successor. Its replacement will no longer feature a push-pull zoom system and will be replaced with something else.
CENTR camera records 360-degree panoramic 4K videos
A team of former Apple employees has unveiled the CENTR camera. It consists of a device with the shape of a doughnut that features four image sensors. The CENTR camera will stitch the footage together in order to create amazing 360-degree panoramic videos at 4K resolution. This device is available now on Kickstarter!

B&H Photo Video has just discontinued the Fujifilm X20. The compact camera is no longer in stock at this retailer and it is said that other retailers will soon follow the same path.
