Canon is working on an interesting lens that could be a follow-up to the EF 24-105mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM lens launched at the Photokina 2014 event. The Japan-based company has patented the Canon EF 24-120mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM lens, a standard zoom optic that could become a best seller among photographers who travel a lot.
Canon 6D Mark II rumored to be released in 2015 after all
Trusted sources are rather certain that Canon will reveal the 1D X and 5D Mark III successors by the end of this year, while the cameras will be released in 2016. Previously, it was said that the Canon 6D Mark II is set for a 2016 introduction, but now it seems like this DSLR will be coming to the market sometime in late 2015.
Three Samyang XEEN cine prime lenses coming on August 10
Samyang will hold a product launch event on August 10 in order to announce three new XEEN-series cine prime lenses. The Samyang XEEN 24mm, 50mm, and 85mm optics will be introduced and they will offer a maximum aperture of T1.5. The primes will be designed for multiple camera mounts, including Canon EF and Nikon F.
Tamron 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC lens becomes official
Tamron has taken the wraps off of the world’s lightest all-round zoom lens. The brand new Tamron 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC lens is replacing a 10-year-old optic and it does so in fashion. This lens will become available by the end of August 2015 with built-in image stabilization technology for DSLR cameras with APS-C-sized sensors.
DJI Phantom 3 Standard flying camera drone announced
DJI has introduced a new Phantom 3-series flying camera drone, but this one is aimed at first-time fliers. The new quadcopter with a built-in camera is called DJI Phantom 3 Standard and it is already available for purchase at the company’s official store, the company confirming that this is its most accessible drone ever.
Nikon Coolpix P4000 coming soon with 200x optical zoom lens
If you are following the digital imaging market, then you are probably aware that Nikon is selling a camera with an 83x optical zoom lens called Coolpix P900. Now, it is time to reveal the fact that the company is working on an even more impressive shooter, called Nikon Coolpix P4000, that features a 200x optical zoom lens.
Sony A7S II rumored to employ a Canon XC10-like design
Sony is allegedly working on a replacement for the A7S full-frame mirrorless camera. The upcoming device will be different from the existing model as it will employ a camcorder-like design. CIPA report: DSLR and mirrorless camera sales up in June 2015
June 2015 could prove to be a turning point for digital imaging companies. The latest statistical data from the Camera & Imaging Products Products Association, commonly known as CIPA, is showing that DSLR and mirrorless camera sales as well as lens shipments increased in June 2015 when compared to June 2014.
New Sigma 12-24mm lens to be released in Art and Contemporary versions
A trusted source has shed more light on the much-rumored Sigma Art-series lens that will be released by the end of 2015. It seems like the optic consists of a Sigma 12-24mm lens instead of an 85mm f/1.4 model, as previously said. Moreover, the upcoming wide-angle zoom lens will become available in both Art and Contemporary versions.
Fujifilm X-T1 IR camera launched with infrared technology

The Nikon 200-500mm f/5.6E ED VR lens will be released on the market this September.

After announcing three new lenses in early July, Nikon is now unveiling another three lenses in early August. The first of them is the sought-after and much-rumored AF-S Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8E ED VR. The new Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8E ED VR lens replaces the older model with a built-in image stabilization technology and more.
Canon adding DIGIC 7 processor into 5DX and 1D X Mark II
Canon needs to replace its three full-frame DSLR cameras that have been around for a few years. The 6D, 5D Mark III, and 1D X will all be substituted by new models sooner than the end of 2016. Until then, the rumor mill is stating that at least two of them, called 5D X and 1D X Mark II, will be powered by a DIGIC 7 image processor.
