Snapzoom – the smartphone-to-scope adapter
Snapzoom adapter will enable capturing images through a wide range of scopes with your smartphone by providing secure attachment. Thanks to a great response from crowd-funding website Kickstarter, the adapter will become available by September 2013.

It seems like there is a competition between camera manufacturers to see which one of them is capable of releasing new firmware updates more quickly. After Panasonic and Nikon among others, Fujifilm has released a new firmware version for the X100S digital camera. Photographers can install it right now, in order to fix a very annoying bug.
Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 lens to become available for Sony A-Mount cameras, too
When Sigma unveiled the fast 18-35mm f/1.8 DC HSM Art zoom lens, the company revealed that the optic will be available only for APS-C DSLR cameras from companies such as Canon, Nikon, and Sigma, leaving out Sony’s A-mount shooters. However, a source has revealed that Sigma will indeed release an A-mount version for Sony cameras soon.
Ten Nikon Coolpix S cameras receive new firmware updates
Nikon has done the unthinkable by concomitantly upgrading 10 of its Coolpix S-series cameras. This decision comes just a few days after Panasonic released new firmware for eight of its shooters, so this may be a novel type of contest. The 10 upgrades are here to solve an issue with recharging drained batteries.
Pentax APS-C and full frame cameras to be announced soon
Pentax has some surprises for its fans, as the company will announced a professional APS-C camera soon, alongside a full frame shooter. Managing Director and General Manager, Tomoyoshi Shibata, has confirmed that the company is currently working on the two shooters and that more information will be revealed before long.
Olympus E-P5 photo leaked on the web
Olympus is holding a product launch event in China on May 11. The camera which will be unveiled during that show is the E-P5. The Micro Four Thirds system has been teased in the Asian country, while now it has had its first photo leaked on the web. The best part about it is that the photo has confirmed plenty of details for MFT fans.

The Society of International Nature and Wildlife Photographers (SINWP) has recently ended its Spring Time Competition 2013. The society has also announced the winners of its photography contest. The judges picked some great photos for the top three, but Andrzej Bochenski has been selected as the winner of the photo competition.

Sea & Sea has developed a Canon EOS 6D underwater housing in its high-end MDX series which will be able to withstand depths of up to 330 feet. Except for depth-of-field preview, the MDX 6-D will access all of the camera’s functions, helped by an ergonomic design.

Panasonic has finally taken the wraps off the G6 mirrorless camera. The Micro Four Thirds system is now official, continuing the trend set by the Lumix GF6, as the shooter has borrowed its sibling’s Near Field Communications (NFC) chipset. The WiFi-ready camera also features a 16-megapixel image sensor and many more!

Panasonic has introduced the company’s fifth NFC-ready camera. It is called Lumix LF1 and it will be a part of a brand new series of premium compact cameras available at decent price points. The Panasonic LF1 also comes packed with WiFi and it should become available on the market “soon” in Black and White flavors.

The United States has been struck with a terrorist attack on April 15. The FBI managed to come up with a list of two suspects, Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. The former has been killed in a firefight, while the latter was the subject of a massive manhunt, which ended with the Boston police finding him with a Star SAFIRE III camera.

Micro Four Thirds adopters are in for a treat as both Olympus and Panasonic are working on several new cameras. The former will launch the E-P5 and E-PL6 sometime in May, while the latter will please its fans earlier than expected, as the LF1 and G6 shooters should be revealed by the end of April, along with a new lens.
