Panasonic will hold a product launch event on July 16. The Panasonic Lumix LX8 compact camera will become official on this date as a replacement for the 2-year-old LX7. The new shooter is now rumored to come packed with a 20.1-megapixel 1-inch-type sensor, the same model found in the Panasonic FZ1000 and Sony RX100 III cameras.

It comes packed with optical image stabilization and a stepping motor, but it retains a lightweight and compact design, specific to EOS M cameras.

However, trusted sources are back with more details and it seems like the upcoming shooter will be called Nikon D810. This is similar to the naming scheme of the D600 series, as the DSLR has been substituted by the D610 in 2013.
