Lomography Smartphone Scanner turns 35mm film into digital photos
Lomography has finally solved one of the biggest 35mm film drawbacks by providing an easy and cheap way to scan the film rolls. The solution is called Smartphone Film Scanner. The device is available now directly from Lomography and it is compatible with all iPhones as well as with some Android smartphones.

Nikon ViewNX 2.7.4 software update now available for download
Nikon has released another minor software update for the ViewNX 2 photo-editing tool. The new Nikon ViewNX 2.7.4 update comes packed with support for the recently-released D7100 DSLR camera, as well as with a couple of bug fixes. The NEF RAW Codec 1.18.0 is also available for download, adding support for the Coolpix A shooter.

The 10th edition of the Smithsonian Photo Contest features the same The Natural World, Travel, People, Americana, and Altered Images categories and the magazine’s judges will select the winners in the coming weeks.

Nauticam has announced a new underwater housing. It is aimed at Canon EOS M users and will allow oceanographers to take the mirrorless camera to depths of 100 meters. Canon 6D firmware update to be released in May or June
Canon will release several firmware updates for its cameras by the end of 2013. The company has already released updates for plenty of its cameras and three more are scheduled to become available in the following months. However, there is room for one more as the rumor mill says the EOS 6D will also be updated soon.

ACD Systems has release official software updates for its photo-editing tools called ACDSee Pro 6.2 and ACDSee 15.2.
