Canon PowerShot G17 announcement date set for May 2014
Canon has launched the PowerShot G16 camera in August 2013. Although it is considered a decent camera, it seems like the company may already be working on a replacement. The specs of the Canon PowerShot G17 have showed up online and the compact camera’s announcement is rumored to take place sometime in May 2014.
Olympus Stylus Tough TG-3 rugged compact camera unveiled
Olympus has decided to unveil a new flagship rugged compact camera. The Olympus Stylus Tough TG-3 replaces the TG-2 version introduced at the CES 2013. It comes packed with an improved set of specifications as well as a lot of cool tricks that will provide a lot of options for adventurers in need of a “tough” camera.
Olympus Stylus SH-1 camera becomes official with 16MP sensor
The second camera announced by Olympus today is the new Olympus Stylus SH-1. It is also a compact model, but one which features a high zoom lens like a bridge. The brand new Stylus SH-1 has a design inspired by PEN cameras and features the 5-axis image stabilization technology found in the OM-D-series shooters.
Canon C200 and Canon C400 4K cameras coming at NAB Show 2014
The rumor mill is once again discussing about Canon’s plans for the NAB Show 2014. After saying that no new gear is coming at the event, sources are reporting that the Canon C200 and Canon C400 camcorders will become official in early April. The duo will be able to record 4K videos, replacing the non-4K C100 and C300 cameras.
Canon PowerShot SX60 HS now rumored to offer 100x zoom lens
Although there are plenty of Canon rumors circling online, there is room for one more. According to sources familiar with the matter, the Canon PowerShot SX60 HS will be announced soon and will employ a staggering 100x optical zoom lens. The optic will cover a focal range from the wide-angle 20mm to the super-telephoto 2000mm.

Nikon offering free D600 replacement for faulty cameras
Nikon has issued a new product service announcement, revealing that it is offering a free D600 replacement camera for photographers who are still troubled by dust accumulation issues even after servicing their DSLRs. The company will also pay for the shipping costs and if the D600 is out of stock, it will offer an “equivalent model”.
Olympus 9mm f/2.8 PRO lens rumored to be in development
The rumor mill is claiming that an Olympus 9mm f/2.8 PRO lens is in the works. An inside source is reporting that the company is manufacturing several prototypes of the lens, which features a metal construction, leaving room for sealing. This means that the lens will be weathersealed and will allow photographers to shoot in the rain.

Sony A77II announcement date rumored to be May 1
After revealing that the release date of the Sony A77 replacement is June 2014, sources inside the company are claiming that the Sony A77II announcement date has been scheduled for May 1. The camera will become official on the first day of the 2014 Sony World Photography Awards Exhibition at the Somerset House in London.
Zeiss CZ.2 15-30mm T2.9 and MA 135mm T1.9 lenses announced
Zeiss has unveiled two new cine lenses aimed at videographers and filmmakers. The new Zeiss CZ.2 15-30mm T2.9 and the ARRI/Zeiss MA 135mm T1.9 cine lenses will be on display at the NAB Show 2014. The event will allow visitors to break down the doors on April 7, although companies will hold their press conferences as of April 5.
Tamron 10mm f/2.8 fisheye lens patent discovered in Japan
Sources in Japan have discovered that Tamron has patented the first fisheye lens in its history. The new Tamron 10mm f/2.8 fisheye lens patent hints that the product will feature Vibration Compensation technology and video recording support. It will be aimed at cameras with APS-C sensors, although the release date details are unknown.

Tokina has officially announced the price and release date of the AT-X 16-28mm T3.0 cine lens for the US market.
