This week the MCP Shoot Me Group is breaking all the rules; rules of photography that is. The photography challenge this week is to pick a rule of photography (e.g. the rule of thirds, rules of focus, rules of lighting, etc) and break it. Each photographer was challenged to take one photo using their chosen rule and a second one, of the same subject, breaking it. The results proved that sometimes, “you just have to break the rules”.
We loved seeing your take on this theme. Here are a few of our favorite rebels this week:
Amy MagnetGirl broke the rules of focus

In-house rebel Nicole Baldwin broke the rule of thirds

Michelle Horsman broke the rule of thirds and exposure

Sue Zellers broke the rules of a steady hand

Use the photography challenges as a way to grow as a photographer. Be creative, try new things and shoot these images for yourself. You have the support of a large group of photographers who can assist you and give you feedback as you work on specific themes and skills.
The team would like to thank everyone who submitted a photo for the challenge. You have one more week on this theme, so come join our Facebook Group and participate now, or check out more challenge photos in album on Facebook.

More creative edits were add to the MCP Shoot Me Group album for the edit challenge this week. We want to say,”Thank you”, again to Abigail Hardy for allowing us to use this photo. Here are a few more stunning edits:

If you have an idea on how you’d edit the image below, or want to see and learn what others did, JOIN US HERE.
The photo challenges give you a chance to edit other photographer’s images, share them for critique, and see how others edit the same photographs. Participating allows you to practice editing, learn how to give constructive criticism, and watch what steps or Photoshop actions and Lightroom presets are used in various edits. We hope you will join us to edit the bi-weekly photos.
We will have a new edit challenge starting Monday, so come back to see what image you can edit then.

Thank you so much for the free Mini Enlighten pk. I really need to use LR more, but I tend to always go Photoshop because I’m familiar with it.
Thank you very much for featuring my photos! It was my first challenge and I was excited to be a part of it, but this is great 😀
