When editing in Photoshop, what is the best format to save photos in? Which makes the most sense for photographers?
To learn which file formats are best and which I use, check out my guest post on the Digital Photography School.
Digital Photography School is the publisher of the Photo Nuts and Bolts book. If you are a beginner photographer, check out this excellent e-book.

Very good Post!I save each (uncropped) image that I edit as a PSD that that I can go back and rezize to any crop ratio so my 8×10 matches my 5×7 matches my 4×6. When I am sending to the lab I resize my images to the right crop ratio and save as a JPG. (If I am ordering an 8×10, 5×7 and 4×6 of the same image, I do upload three different files to the lab). When I do anything for the web, or to save for myself, I save as a PNG. There is no quality loss and I can save to the web. I would use only PSD and PNG, but most labs that I have worked with will only allow uploads of JPGs.
