Adobe has released Lightroom Mobile for iPad. The application is available as a free download if you are a monthly Creative Cloud subscriber.

Adobe Lightroom Mobile will become a “companion” application for all Lightroom users on desktop computers. However, it will only be available for Creative Cloud subscribers who are paying $9.99 per month or more.

The subscription includes Photoshop CC, Behance portfolios, and Lightroom 5, and it is the only way to download the application. This means that even if you purchase a physical copy of Lightroom, you will not be able to install the mobile app on your iPad.

Now that the availability details have been clarified, it is time to take a look at the features provided by the Lightroom Mobile for iPad.

Lightroom app for iPad is all about syncing your collection across web, desktop, and mobile

The mobile version of Lightroom allows users to process photos and to edit them without reducing image quality. Professional editing is no longer tied to desktops, but it will be strongly connected between the two worlds.

Adobe says that users will be able to sync their image collection across multiple platforms, including web, desktop, and mobile. Their files will be available regardless of the type of device they are using, allowing them to also edit shots while on-the-go.

In addition to the photos and the edits applied to them, Adobe Lightroom Mobile for iPad is capable of syncing metadata, so that you will always see the camera settings and lens used for capturing the images.

Edit whenever you want to, Lightroom Mobile for iPad works in offline mode

Lightroom Mobile for iPad will also be available in offline mode. Adobe says that users can edit their photos on their tablet even when they are not online, thus providing a “truly portable experience”.

The official press release says that users will be happy to edit their files whenever they feel creative. From now on, they will no longer be forced to get to their computer to process a photo. If users get a great idea, then they will simply have to grab their iPad and start having fun.

More details about how you can download the application can be found at Adobe’s website.
