Ricoh GR Limited Edition camera unveiled with special design

Ricoh has introduced a “Limited Edition” of the Ricoh GR, a compact system camera which has been released on the market earlier this year.

Unveiled in April 2013, the Ricoh GR is a compact camera with a fixed lens that is aimed to compete against the likes of Fujifilm X100S, Sony RX100 II, and others.

The premium CSC offers a set of exciting features that include a 16-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor without an optical low-pass filter in order to maximize sharpness and image quality.

The company is back with a modified version of the shooter that is aimed at collectors and, why not, fashionistas. It is called Ricoh GR Limited Edition and it comes packed in a new design and alongside several accessories.

Design-wise, the Ricoh GR Limited Edition offers a magnesium-alloy body with green wave finishes. The camera comes with a trimmed burl wood pattern and a grip made out of “marbleized ebony”.

It is a compact shooter which will look impressive in all collections and photographers with a keen sense of fashion will also appreciate the special textures of the device.

The company notes that the model dial, four-way selector, and the control buttons have a charcoal hue so that they integrate in a proper way with the rest of the design.

Availability and price information

Only a small number of units will be manufactured so potential buyers should hurry and secure a camera when it becomes available this November.

The Ricoh GR Limited Edition is expected to cost $899.95, this price including all accessories, the company stated.

The specs are identical to the ones of the original version, including the 18.3mm f/2.8 lens providing a 35mm equivalent of 28mm. The original model is available for $779.79 at Amazon.
