DxO Optics Pro 8.1.3 update packs 260 new modules and support for multiple new cameras

In DxO Optics Pro 8.1.3, users will find more than 10,000 lens/camera combinations as 260 modules have been added in the latest update. All of them are available in the software’s both Standard and Elite editions.

The new cameras supported by the latest version of DxO Optics Pro are:

  • Leica M-E;
  • Leica M9;
  • Leica M9-P;
  • Nikon D5200;
  • Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ200;
  • Canon PowerShot SX50 HS.

On the other hand, DxO Optics Pro 8.1.3 adds support for the following lenses:

  • Leica Super-Elmar-M 18mm f/3.8 ASPH;
  • Leica Summilux-M 35mm f/1.4 ASPH;

DxO Labs claims that its software can automatically correct optical flaws in both JPEG and RAW photos taken using the aforementioned cameras and lenses. Among the flaws which can be corrected using DxO Optics Pro, we can find chromatic aberrations, distortions, lens softness, and vignetting.

The DxO Optics Pro 8.1.3 update is available as a free download for consumers who previously purchased either the “7” or “8” versions of the software beginning September 1st, 2012. Users who have never bought the program can do so at the company’s official website. The Standard edition costs $169, while the Elite version is available for $299.

This program is a great alternative to Adobe’s Lightroom, so you might want to give it a try as you have nothing to lose. A 30-day free trial can also be downloaded by photographers who would like to take the DxO Optics Pro software for a test drive.

If you already have it, then you should update it in order to get support for the new camera and lens combinations. As stated above, version 8.1.3 is available for download for Windows and Mac computers.
