Steps taken to achieve the look:
I tend to use many action applications when editing my photos, backing off the opacity slider for subtle effects, building to an end result that really speaks to me. I then make a few final tweaks of my own.
It’s autumn in Maine and the temperatures are turning rather chilly. We brought out the sweaters and blankets and I captured this portrait of my daughter happily wrapped up in a soft throw for the first time this season.
MCP Inspire Photoshop actions used:
- MCP Brilliant Color Base

My own final tweaks made in Photoshop:
- Flatten image
- Crop slightly
- Filter> Sharpen> Unsharp Mask: Amount 150%, Radius 1.0 pixels, Threshold 10 levels
- Spot Healing Brush Tool to eradicate mini blemishes and a wisp of hair over the subject’s right eye, and to soften the dark gap at the top of the blanket
- Sharpen Tool to sharpen portions of the subject’s hair
- Dodge Tool (Range: Midtones, Exposure: 18%) to brighten the irises of the subject’s eyes
