Tamron has announced the Canon EF-M-mount version of the 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 Di III VC lens, an optic that will go on sale by the end of this month for the unbelievable price of $499.
Recently, it has been revealed that Tamron is working on the EF-M 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 Di III VC lens version for Canon EOS M mirrorless cameras. The rumor mill has got this one right once more as the Japanese company has unveiled exactly this product today.

Tamron 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 Di III VC lens is now official in a Canon EF-M-mount. It will be released soon for about $500.
Tamron unveils Canon EF-M version of its 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 Di III VC lens
The Tamron 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 Di III VC lens is a compact and lightweight zoom lens that covers wide-angle to telephoto focal lengths. It was launched back in 2011 for other mirrorless cameras, but it found its way towards Canon EOS M shooters three years later.
This new version will offer a 35mm equivalent of 29-320mm, thus being an all-round lens that is perfect for photographing your travels and vacations. As it is compact and lightweight, it also fits the design of the Canon EOS M shooters.
It is worth noting that Tamron is the first third-party manufacturer to launch an optic for the EF-M-mount, which now consists of five lenses. Canon revealed the EF-M 55-200 f/4.5-6.3 IS STM lens earlier this week as the fourth model of the series.
Tamron 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 Di III VC lens offers 4-stop stabilization
The specs of the new superzoom lens include Vibration Compensation (VC) technology that provides up to 4-stops of image stabilization.
A high image quality is delivered by the presence of a pair of Low Dispersion elements and three aspherical glass elements. However, they are joined by a hybrid aspherical element and a high refractive index (XR) element. Together they will dramatically reduce chromatic aberrations.
Tamron 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 Di III VC lens comes packed with a stepping motor that offers quiet and smooth autofocus, although a Direct Manual Focus system is available for manually fine-tuning the focus after the AF motor has done its job.

The Japan-based manufacturer has confirmed that the lens will focus at a minimum distance of 50 centimeters and that it measures 97mm in length and 68mm in diameter.
Its filter thread is set at 62mm, while the total weight stands at 460 grams. Tamron says that the 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 Di III VC lens will be available in black and silver colors for a price of $499 as of June 26.
