logoshannon09sm SEO? Google? Getting Your Website Found... Series Starting Next Week by Shannon Steffens Business Tips Guest Bloggers

Starting this week Shannon Steffens will be doing a 6+ part series on how to help your website get noticed on search engines and how to draw traffic to your site.

Here is a little bit about Shannon:

I am a photographer and a mother to two young children. I started taking photographs at age seven and haven’t stopped since. My first camera was an instamatic 110 and who knew how far my passion would take me. Although, I have always loved images and film, I did not pursue photography as a business until later. I spent the first part of my working life as a librarian, teaching others how to find and incorporation information from a variety of sources.

My passion turned photography from a hobby into something more, later when others saw my passion for trying to capture the true personality of my child on film. Friends and family asked me to help them to capture their child’s true personality in photos; the result was my business, Candid Moments. I now specialize in on location photography using both natural and studio lighting. Photography has opened doors and relationships that have done nothing but enrich the lives of my self and my family.

I continue to learn and grow each and every day with the assistance of others in the photography community. It is my goal to share all that I can with others as I continue on my photographic odyssey. Ironically my first career as a librarian has come into play now as I have had to learn to disseminate and find out how to optimize my own web site, among other things. It is my goal to share that process with others!

And here is an outline of what Shannon will be covering:

Week 1 – What is SEO and introduction to Google webmaster tools

Week 2 – Google Analytics

Week 3 – Home Page/Meta Tags/Site Maps (this could be more then one week)

Week 4 – Linking

Week 5 – What not to do!

Week 6 – What else you CAN do!

This could be more – this is like a spider as far as the whole concept, but this is the basics and will get everyone started on their journey to making their site more easily found.
