Fujifilm XQ1 introduced as a stylish and powerful compact camera

Fujifilm has introduced a new ultra-compact camera called XQ1, which joins the X-series of shooters with an X-Trans CMOS II sensor and hybrid autofocus support.

This may well be the last camera from Fujifilm to be announced in 2013. The company has been rumored to reveal two more shooters after the X-A1. Now that the X-E2 is official and that the XQ1 has just been announced, the company might be done with the cameras this year.

Fujifilm announces XQ1 compact camera with beautiful design and X-Trans sensor

The Fujifilm XQ1 is a new X-series camera which features a 2/3-inch-type X-Trans CMOS II sensor measuring capable of capturing 12-megapixel photos. It is a stylish compact camera that is sure to appeal to photographers who want a small but powerful shooter.

XQ1 will do an awesome job at focusing thanks to its Hybrid AF system that includes both Contrast and Phase detection. The EXR II processing engine propels this device as top of its class when it comes to AF speed, as it can focus in only 0.06 seconds.

Fujifilm claims that the XQ1 combines functionality with design and portability. The sensor does not have an optical low-pass filter, thus preserving image sharpness and its premium materials are sure to make users not to let go of it.

Fujifilm XQ1 wants to improve your low-light photography

Just like the X-E2, the XQ1 comes packed with Lens Modulation Optimizer, a system that will definitely allow users to capture sharper photos.

In order to be better at low-light shooting, the new Fuji compact camera features optical image stabilization, a maximum ISO sensitivity of 12,800, and a pop-up flash.

If you are still concerned about the speed of this thing, then you should be aware that its shutter lag stands at only 0.015 seconds. The camera is also capable of shooting at an interval of only 0.3 seconds, making sure photographers will not waste time or miss the shots.

Fujinon 25-100mm f/1.8-4.9 lens, WiFi, Focus Peaking, and even more features just for you

Fujifilm XQ1 features a Fujinon 25-100mm f/1.8-4.9 lens for the 35mm equivalent. It includes four aspherical elements and three low-dispersion elements with HT-EBC coating to cut down ghosting, flare, and other optical aberrations.

The compact camera shares even more X-E2 features. The list includes WiFi, Focus Peaking, advanced scene modes, and film emulators so that you can share photos wirelessly, keep subjects in focus at all times, and get creative.

Additionally, the new XQ1 is capable of recording full HD videos at 60fps with AF tracking support and it fires its shutter at speeds between 1/4000 and 30 seconds.

Roll-out to begin in late October and continue this November at affordable prices

The stylish XQ1 measures 3.94 x 2.32 x 1.3-inches and weighs only 206 grams. Despite its compact size, the camera has enough room on its back for a 3-inch LCD screen which also acts as a Live View mode.

Fujifilm has scheduled the shooter for a late October release date depending on markets. The price is set at $499.95 regardless of black or silver colors.

The camera is available for pre-order at Amazon in Silver and Black for the same price: $499.
