Kodak S-1 manual and sample photos posted ahead of launch

Kodak and JK Imaging may have delayed the PixPro S-1 Micro Four Thirds camera once again, but the manual and a bunch of sample photos have just appeared on the web.

JK Imaging has taken over the digital imaging part of Kodak in an attempt to save this former giant from bankruptcy. The company has introduced a bunch of compact and bridge cameras, while also revealing that a Micro Four Thirds camera is in development.

The Kodak PixPro S-1 has been announced and has been delayed several times. However, earlier this year the camera has received an official price along with a promise that it is coming soon on the market.

More than three months have passed since this commitment, but the device is still not available on the market and it seems like there is no way to pre-order it.

Meanwhile, the Kodak S-1 manual has been released for download on JK Imaging’s website, while a bunch of sample photos have been posted on the web, courtesy of Soomal.

We are used to seeing sample images after a camera’s official announcement. However, the manual usually shows up on the web close to its release date or at least when it receives an exact launch date.

This might mean that the Kodak PixPro S-1 release date is actually getting closer and consumers will be able to get their hands on a new Micro Four Thirds camera.

Either way, the device appears to be ready for shipping. Soomal has posted a bunch of sample photos captured with this shooter along with their full EXIF data. The shots are better than nothing, as people are always curious to find out the news before they happen.

The lenses used in the photo shoot are the Kodak 12-45mm f/3.5-6.3, which offers a 35mm equivalent of 24-90mm, and an Olympus 45mm f/1.8, which provides a 35mm equivalent of 90mm.

The specs list of the Kodak S-1 is unchanged. The camera sports a 16-megapixel CMOS image sensor, 3-inch 920K-dot articulated LCD screen on the back, full HD video recording, continuous shooting mode of up to 4fps, and WiFi.

The Kodak-branded shooter comes with sensor-shift optical image stabilization technology with reduces the effects of camera shakes during stills and video recording.
