Sony has officially announced five new E-mount lenses for the newly-introduced A7 and A7R full frame cameras, as well as a new A-mount optic.
Following the announcement of the two E-mount mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras with full frame image sensors, the A7 and A7R, Sony has introduced five new lenses, specially designed for such cameras.
Although not all of them will be available at the December 2013 launch, they will go on sale by the end of February 2014, while the entire series will reach 15 lenses by 2015 and will include a macro and a wide-angle zoom.
The new NEX-FF line-up consists of a kit lens from Sony, a G-class model from the Japanese company, and three premium optics from Zeiss.
Furthermore, the company has refreshed an older A-mount G-class lens, that is now environmentally-sealed.
Sony 28-70mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS zoom is the kit lens for the A7 full frame camera
First things first, the Sony 28-70mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS is a zoom lens that will be offered as a kit with the A7.
The A7R will only be offered as a body-only version, while the 28-70mm will not be sold separately, meaning that the 36.4-megapixel camera will have to be purchased alongside the more expensive optics.
This lens comes packed with Optical SteadyShot technology, three aspherical elements and a single ED glass element. These will make sure that shakes are minimized, while chromatic aberrations and other optical flaws are kept to the minimum.
Sony G 70-200mm f/4 OSS lens keeps its maximum aperture throughout its focal range

Its design reduces distortions and aberrations, but its most important trait is the ability to maintain the maximum aperture of f/4 throughout the zoom range.
The company has not announced its release date, nor its price, but these details should become official soon.
Another constant aperture lens: the Zeiss 24-70mm f/4 ZA OSS Vario-Tessar T*
Zeiss is one of Sony’s long-time partners. The first lens for the A7 and A7R FF MILCs is the 24-70mm f/4 ZA OSS Vario-Tessar T*.
The zoom lens also maintains a constant f/4 aperture regardless of focal length. It is also stabilized to reduce shakes, while its elements cut down glaring and increase contrast.
Photographers will be able to buy this product as of January 2014 for a price of $1,199.99. It can be pre-ordered at Amazon for $1,198.
