Drift Innovation has announced the tiniest action camera in its line-up. It is called Stealth 2 and it is here to take on the GoPro cameras with its affordable price tag.

GoPro is aiming to make its cameras provide better video quality. The new Hero4 Black Edition is capable of shooting 4K videos at 30fps, but the device costs about $500.

On the other hand, there are companies, such as Drift Innovation, who have decided to take a different approach on the action camera market.

The brand new Drift Stealth 2 is a cheap, lightweight, and small camcorder, which will be perfect to record your adventures and the ones of your children.

Drift Stealth 2 is a new compact and lightweight action camera that aims to take on the GoPro Hero line-up with a $250 price tag.

Drift Innovation launches its smallest, lightest camera ever called Stealth 2

GoPro Hero4 is by no means a large device. It is actually quite small, as it measures 1.6 x 2.25 x 1.12 inches, while weighing 2.92 ounces without its case. The Drift Stealth 2 stays true to its name, being the lightest and smallest camera ever made by Drift Innovation.

This shooter measures 3.15 x 1.65 x 1.06 inches, while weighing 3.41 ounces. This new version is about 40% lighter than the first model of the series, so it should be easier to be carried around regardless of where you decided to mount it.

Still, the Stealth 2 is cheaper than both the Hero4 Black and Silver editions, as it can be purchased for a price of $249 right now.

Drift Stealth 2 employs a 1/3-inch-type sensor made by Aptina and it is capable of shooting full HD videos at up to 30fps. From this standpoint, it would be fair to compare it to the Silver Edition of the Hero4, which costs about $400.

WiFi and 3-hour battery life are just some of Drift Stealth 2’s nice features

Drift Innovation has confirmed that the Stealth 2 can be used for still photography, too. The camera can shoot 12-megapixel photos and 2-megapixel shots when recording videos, respectively.

Moreover, it comes with a continuous shooting mode of up to 3 frames per second as well as a time-lapse photography mode with 3-megapixel stills.

The Drift Stealth 2 can be used for a large number of applications and its 3-hour battery life is also great for recording your lengthy adventures. Users can control the device remotely from a smartphone or tablet, as it comes with built-in WiFi.

This action cam features a 256MB internal memory, but it will not last long, so you should go instead for a microSD card of up to 32GB. More info can be found at the company’s official website, where you can also purchase the Stealth 2.
