Fujifilm is rumored to announce three new cameras this year, all of which are set to replace current models, such as the X-Pro1, X100s, and X20.

The mirrorless and high-end compact camera segments are doing fairly well when compared to the lower-end tier. This is why Fujifilm is planning to release new models that will substitute current models.

The rumor mill has been claiming that the X-Pro2, X200, and X30 cameras will all be announced in 2014 (or early 2015, if something unpredictable happens and the company is forced to delay a product).

Another source is now saying that the previous reports have been accurate and that the Fuji X30 will become official in the near future with a 1-inch-type image sensor. After that, the compact camera will be followed by the Fujifilm X100s replacement at the Photokina 2014, which will also be joined by the X-Pro1 successor.

These are the Fujifilm X-Pro1, X100s and X20 cameras. All of them will be replaced this year by the X-Pro2, X200, and X30, respectively, the rumor mill says.

Fujifilm X100s replacement coming at Photokina 2014 alongside X-Pro1 successor

The Photokina 2014 will bring a couple of surprises for Fujifilm fans. A source is certain that both the X200 and X-Pro2 will become official in Cologne, Germany this September.

The two cameras will feature similar APS-C X-Trans image sensors. As previously reported, neither of them will come with full frame sensors of organic nature.

It appears that the first Fuji shooter with an organic sensor will be released two years from now, so we will have to wait until 2016 to see what this technology can provide.

If the X-Pro2 is a mirrorless interchangeable lens camera, the X200 will remain a compact model with a fixed lens. There is no info on that, but it is very likely that the lens will be the next evolution of the 23mm f/2 version found in the X100s.

Fuji X30 is still on track for a July 3 announcement date

On the other hand, the sought-after Fujifilm X30 will replace the X20 sometime in the coming weeks. The new model will sport a new image sensor type sized at 1-inch, bigger than the 2/3-inch-type sensor found in the X20.

The announcement date of the X30 is rumored to be July 3 and to include the launch of the X70, another compact shooter aimed at beginner photographers.

As usual, take these details with a pinch of salt because Fuji has not confirmed that it is holding an event this July, nor that it will announce new gear at the Photokina 2014.

Meanwhile, the X100s is available for around $1,300, the X-Pro1 costs around $1,000, and the X20 can be purchased for around $450 at Amazon.
